My rover 25 doesn't, doesn't need it really though... the remote central locking unlocks the boot too so.... just a useless space on my dash! :)

Oh right! oO Very odd!

I thought it would of been something practical....

Like,

Boot Release Button? To pop the boot open so you can just pull it up (I know all the cars have RCL (or most i think) but it would be useful)

Tis about all I can think of to be there tbh!

Personally i wouldn't declare the wheels as they're a factory set. The insurance wouldn't know if they were an optional extra or not. Not as if they're some bling bling £1000 halfraurds wheels No, they're not exactly bling, but they're not standard. If the car is assessed by someone who knows they...

I pay about 800 a year on a standard rover 25 (with 1 years NCB) my first policy on a 1.25 fiesta I paid £1500 (TPF+T)

Still pretty expensive compared to what you pay ;) But then again you have more years NCB! One day, one day!

Cool :D

Just a question, my 25 has the rover tape player =/ *blush* - was just speaking to a mate and if I change it to an aftermarket cd player, will the steering wheel controls work for it?

Hehe thanks :) it drives really nice, so nice to see when you put the temperature to cold it doesn't affect the coolant temp like in my fiesta... the air con is VERY cold too!

It's really nice :) Glad to be part of the forum now properly!

Scary thing is, there's TONS of Rover 25's around!

My insurance company are quite picky what you do to your car... some insurance companies let a lot slide (not naming names)

Rover 25

Heya All :) Just had a drive of my mates 214 today and absolutely loved it... loved being able to go around corners pretty quick and the car just hangs in there... he has the 8v version (1.4) and it still has some go on it, was quite surprised.... Definately decided I want one so I'm off to view an ...

Do MG's/Rovers like to drink their coolant?

At the minute I have a ford and mine never drops but my friend has a 214i 8v and he has to put some in every week (saying that his car is on 112,000 miles now!)

Interested, yet concerned

For my next car I'm looking at perhaps getting an MG ZR (1.4) but I'm quite worried about HG issues and after seeing the bills something that I could be faced with. Although I've got a general idea of under the bonet I'm not really the mechanical type - I'm just wondering, how common are HG problems...

I almost died when my mate said how much his insurance was on his 214... £1400 with 1 day of passing his test... my insurance is £1325 on a 1.25 Fiesta with pass plus and 9 months driving experience... justified? I think not...

I've always wondered, why do people always rib rovers saying ahh they're slow, bad styling, not reliable, it'll break down Adam, because just like with Maestros, they've never actually owned one, just heard stories from their mate who knows a bloke whose sisters boyfriend had one a few years ago! :...

Yeah the HG seems a common problem on rovers but saying that mind, my drivers door leaks like nothing you've ever seen... rather that happen than see a fish tank in the back every day!

Thank you for the welcome btw! :P

Common misconception...

I've always wondered, why do people always rib rovers saying ahh they're slow, bad styling, not reliable, it'll break down... my mate just bought a 214i (96P), 107k on the clock, I got a fiesta with 94k (98S Zetec-S) on the clock and to be honest his car is running better than mine, has more in it a...
