Re: A serious SV

This is Jon Webster’s SV, it’s running a space frame, one of the largest single turbo’s you’ll ever see and lots of NOS. First time I saw this car was 4 years ago at a rolling road day at Silverstone, they couldn’t keep it in the rollers no matter how hard they tried. Engine was mostly tuned on a be...

Re: coupe in the 11's!

Martin You could have used my MT’s in the afternoon as I wasn’t running, ET Street radials are something to behold, 225/50/15, I was running the BFG Drag Radials in the same size before, they are no were near as good as the MT’s. I’ve only ever launch in 2nd with them and cut 2.0 hence kicking the c...

Re: coupe in the 11's!

Have to admit, when it first went down the track I wondered how long it would last :o , it was very clear its a quick car, fortunately it lasted the day and it got absolute death, real testament to the build/tune. Hope to catch up with you next time round Martin, unfortunately, I killed the clutch i...

Re: coupe in the 11's!

It was Martin (Can't recall his user name), he has't been around here or a while, car was very quick, he ran coutless low 12's and an 11.9.
There was also another red Rover out that was running 10's

Re: Can a VVC be turbo'd with a 75 turbo?

Steve All very good questions, with regard to vtec, the solution is turbo sizing, a decent T28 (Pulsar) will support the top end rev range, equally, it will spool quick enough to provide low end torque, which carries the power to the vtec transition. Overlap isn’t an issue for vtec, my current build...

Re: Can a VVC be turbo'd with a 75 turbo?

Also consider the liners, the 75 turbo uses up rated units, although, on the couple of builds I’ve seen (none VVC) the liners moved causing HG failure at higher boost levels, there is a way to overcome this but it isn’t cheap.

Chris I think Andy will have some close competition this year, some of the VAG’s, which I’m sure you know about are in the 10’s, not sure if Scott Whitelaw will run the CPL EP3 or not, even so, he’s knocking on the door of a low 10 with his build, TDI has been mentioned, if he managed to kee...

In real world performance there isn’t much between the ZS and CTR, each presents its power in a unique way, you’ll need to ring the neck out of the CTR to get the best from it but the sound track and VTEC are pretty addictive. I quite like the styling of the CTR, very fresh and sharp, in...
