Ha! Not quite the final straw...but yeh the driveshaft snapped when I was on the Northern trip of Skye on a driving holiday! My holiday got extended by two days waiting on one coming from Inverness. The last straw was it got vandalised and then Jonny and Nad tried to fix me waterpump, but it wouldn'...

Anyone got pics of my old Gti?

I used to have a real nice silver Gti until about 2years ago. Vandals got to it, and I scrapped it.

My HD crashed and now I've lost all the pics.

Anyone got any? It was quite liked by a few on here IRC.

Cheers,

Yeh, i totally agree with you. When I broke my car I sold the parts seperately for more than I could have got for them + car!

If someones looking for a minter then obviously they'd be willing to pay above average. :D

I'd say probably £1.6k - £2k. The lower figure as 216 coupes are dirt cheap now, and the higher one cos Coupe Turbo's are dirt cheap now (mostly)

Boring to some, useful to others.

Regardless of the validity of the 0-60, it is still a common measure of performance, selling cars and great for idle chit-chat.

216 Gti 0-60 times?

Slight argument/indecision on this topic!

I say 8.7seconds for 0-60 in a Twin cam Gti. Based on memory and a the D16 CRX is plus 8 seconds.

Can anyone confirm?

As far as I'm aware there are few differences. The GSI deffo came with a 1/2 black leather interior (ash grey), and IRC there were only about 500 made. Someone with more knowledge will probably come along in a minute but i think they story goes that the term 'GTi' was making them harder to insure/mo...

Not long motorway journeys it isnt, not when 70 alone is like 4k rpm :(

Regular 600 miles round trips Glasgow - Leicester, and I agree! Tho, tbh it's not that bad. Definately getting a SOHC gearbox if I get another.

I was looking at one on Ebay but the guys asking £1100 for it, and £1450 advertised locally. The only thing that got me going was a quote from Confused.com, but then I realised it was for a nasp not a turbo. :(

Going rate for a mint 420 gsi turbo?

Whats the going rate for for a mint 420 GSi turbo? Only mods (that I know of) are Koni's, grooved front disks and turbo alloys.

anyone heard off/got design/creative work going?

I am desperately needing work/project/freelance! If anyone hears of product design/development work, please let me know! And if anyone has ideas/thoughts that I can maybe lend expertise on, that would also be great (currently looking into a re-design of a medical disposable). Typical story - recent ...

Yeh, 5-8wks short-term (very short!) down in Watford. Could lead to other things like being pulled in for other films. There's five off my Uni mates working there just now, it's fairly well paid, and seems fun. I'm well chuffed.

first proper job interviews...anyone got advice?

I'm just back from a week exhibiting some of my work at a design show in Islington, London. I've been lucky enough to have now have 4 semi-job offers to chase up, and have two interviews next week. 1st being a well known vaccum cleaner designer/manufacturer (dyson). I'd be working in the Research, D...
