Just been online got a quote of £190 for scrapping it! Seems a shame as car runs really well but looking more like the end is in sight for it :(

It's a 5 door...just noticed it has good tyres all round and one set is all weather tyres with lots of tread so probably almost worth it for the tyres alone...if anyone wants to make a quick deal let me know :D

just a random thought but are the springs sitting properly in their cups at the rear? were all the bolts tigtened up with the car sitting on the ground..shouldn't make much difference tho....looks to me like there is maybe too much drop at the front?

cheers for all the replies...def gonna get a new cts just to put my mind at rest....also noticed that the temperature gauge goes down slighlty when i drive too...ie- will go up in stop/start driving but drops a bit if cruising...would say thermostat but its just been changed for a renault 82 degree ...

The tensioner on mine looks shiny as well so that may not be your problem...was there any squeeling or belt noise which would likely have been apparent to smoke the belt...could be a sticking alternator or something like that if you think it's coming from that area...if i was you i would start it up...

Recieved a headlamp which was broken in transit due to the carelessness of the royal mail. Gerraint offered to give me a lot of my money back even though it getting broken was not his fault....a top bloke who anyone should feel more than happy to deal with. :)

'97 ti.... :twisted: Heard it was a real q-car...think it also looks the most modern out of the 'older' rovers...like the shape, interior, performance, etc...only downside is fuel economy but even that could be worse...
