Vitesse?
This wasn't you was it? OK, obviously not as that would imply you were fully mobile! The original e-bay picture is no longer there by the way. Saw this in a Tesco car-park in Ashford in August:

To replace the Ti, you'd want something that gives you the same experience. So... something that puts a big smile on your face, but also pi$$es you off big style... something that costs a lot of money, which you'll never see back... something that never seems to look as good as your mate's one. It'...

You can probably tell I really fancy a V6....

Replace the 620ti with what??
Hi, I'm in a position to replace my 620ti with something else, but the question is what? Within my budget are: MG ZT-T 190 Mondeo ST220 (the only Ford worth considering) Audi A4 Avant Quattro Alfa 156 Sportswagon V6 X-type 3.0 Sport Any opinions? I know you'll all provide sensible advice....Oh, and ...

Quick answer - No! If yours is a '94 to '96 with air-con, it's a (Rover part no) YLE00083. Saw this e-bay shop: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/A184-Rover-220-420-620Ti-Turbo-GTi-2000-Alternator_W0QQitemZ4634350147QQihZ002QQcategoryZ10414QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I've just bought a new one from Hillmart http://www...

600 or 620?
According to a section of the www.austin-rover.co.uk website, all Rover started to be simply badged as 200, 400, 600, etc so the smaller engined models (e.g., 214) didn't look inferior in the car part next to a 1.6 Escort. They applied the philosophy across the whole range as Rover policy. Also, BMW...

620ti the best turbo
In standard form, the 620ti, as it's the one that (supposedly) has the best chassis to handle the power, less torque steer, that sort of thing

Chrysler is owned by GM. I'm afraid that's a common misconception. The three big car makers in the States are (including their marques with a US presence): 1. Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep - now own Merc 2. General Motors - Chevrolet, Pontiac, GMC, Cadillac, Buick, Hummer, Olds, Saturn, Saab 3. Ford - includ...

suspect there was insufficient performance differentiation between a 623, a 627 and a 620ti to justify the effort and expense... A silky 2.5 V6 would always be a more executive option rather than the all out performance of the 'ti but would have made the 2.3 superfluous. Honda Accord - best selling...

Of course the trouble is, since Rover started badging all variants as simply "600", you never know if it's a 618, 620, 623 or whatever. Was the 623iS actually any different performance-wise to other 623's? Biggest shame with the whole 600-series was the lack of a V6. That would really have helped it...

Rover 623 anyone?
Never hear much mention of the 2.3 litre Rover 623, especially the "sporty" predecessor of the 620ti, the 623iS.
Does anyone own one? I, er, don't.

So no-one can recommend a decent mechanic who knows his way around a 620ti engine bay except for a main dealer?
Come on!

No boost gauge. You're right - it could be over-boosting. It has probably been playing up mainly since the new exhaust was put on. It was fine for the previous five years of boost-enhanced driving!. Then again, it could be the lambda sensor (does it have one?), a "bad" rotor arm, knackered turbo (I ...

Primarily the engine. It runs very rough when cold but that passes. The main problem is that, under hard acceleration it will do a massive misfire above about 4,000 rpm. It's running at a higher boost (done by so-called Superchips about five years ago before I knew that all they do is increase the b...

620s
620ti too. Had it seven years when it was only three years old and therefore still a reasonable amount of cash (although considerably less than the £21k list!). Bought it because I loved the performance (my Dad had a 800 Vitesse Sport ahtough he's since moved on to Jags). Now finally needs a new cl...
