The Vitesse Sport is the nicest interior and most comfortable of any Rover I have driven (Inc 220 Turbo Coupe, VVC Coupe, 620i,820i, Vitesse (180),Vitesse Sport, 214 Bubble.) It just has all the gear! I know it's a big car but it still goes so well! And costs about the same as a large TV! I know mos...

Plus if you look at the rally serious guys (ANR etc.) they all seem to go for a pretty low RR

I think 15s would be better for the strip - smaller rolling radius the better (Within limits!), I have changed down from 185/55/15 to 195/50/15 on my coupe and it is getting slightly better times (When I can get the traction.)

I think given the type of car it is, it performs excellently, especially in the dry - quite easy to drive at a fair clip and very confidence inspiring. As mentioned above, has very little roll.

I'm with Sheaf - He could have spent half of the money and ended up with the horsepower he likes to think he has now for real!

Oh and that white Vitesse is a bit wierd. I thought perhaps the engine had been replaced and the orange lights were because it was a white one, but I've just found a picture of an R reg in white with clear lights and white rubbing strip! Even more confusing is the Jonny Dapp Sticker on the bumper! :D

Hi mate, The Earlier Vitesse Sport and later Vitesse(197BHP) 800s all came with 17' Roversport alloys. Only the 180BHP early nineties Vitesse's had the 16' IMO the 17s look so much better and probably drive better too (Never tried 16s.) You could always get a set, but you'd be looking at over a ton....

Am genuinely sorry to interrupt post but - I love Rovers at least as much as you guys, so why have I been locked out of posting Dave? Why am I getting so much abuse?

The Vitesse Sport is the best value and is amazing for the money and amazing for double the money! Nothing comes close. But being 24 I guess I obviously have to have a coupe (as I do!) But I am simply paying a premium to look slightly cooler to younger people! I would like a ti on the quiet, but I j...

I have driven loads of Tomcat turbos, had a Vitesse (Sport) and now have a Coupe VVC. Of all of them, (Which were all completely standard) the most inspiring would probably be the Vitesse. It was so assured (even at 140+ it felt easy to drive) and did everything you told it. It was very easy to driv...

That's right mate, it comes up turbo. So can we presume that all the ones that don't come up with the word turbo are conversions? Also I have found one that has a turbo engine, the proper sticker on the back and is being sold as a turbo by a dealer, but is only listed as ROVER COUPE - No 220 or anyt...

Rover Turbo Coupes

Morning All, I was just wondering why some of the Turbo Coupes I have seen (on here and for sale) are coming up ROVER 220 COUPE on the RAC check and also on the V5. There seems to be no mention of the Turbo. Some of them do not look like conversions to me! Also if this is all OK and they are 'proper...

Quick Diesels

Hi Guys, I can't understand this thread. Golf GT TDi s are not really quick, and none of the 1.9 TDi VAG engines have ever beaten my VVC let alone my vitesse. Although the 530d is pretty quick though - I once raced one in my vitesse and only due to my (much practiced) start I had the edge to 60. As ...

Vitesses

Hi all, I have a VVC Coupe (97 Amaranth) at the moment and a dismantled Vitesse (97 Nightfire) in the garage and to be honest the Vitesse would out drag, out handle and out-comfort(?) the VVC any time - the Vitesse has to be the best value performance car out there. I wish I had got another at times...
