Don't think the 2.5 Litre KV6 would be allowed .... despite weight, those extra 500cc and two cylinders would be a distinct advantage. Some road going Rovers had a 2 litre V6 I seem to remember. I think the early factory KV6 MG ZS touring cars' power units were based on this ... but, could be wrong...

So about £75, bit better than £400 ;) oh, ok. i was banking on paying someone to do the work for me cos i don't trust my skills with the brakes and i haven't really got anywhere to do the service myself where i live. guess i'll just have to evict my parents' cars off their drive ;) also the car n...

As you said, if the chap were to take care of all the niggling problems it would be worth the 2K, but as it stands theres too much to do for that kind of money. This saloon you're looking at on looks good on paper, the chap has made sure the cosmetics are in good order, but obviously check all the m...

The sound proofing on the bonnet can be bodged with gaffa tape thats no problem. As for the coolant pipe, corrosion is common, but how bad is? If its bad then thats not good since you don't want it spurting a leak in frogland and cooking your engine. The broken gaiter, clicking, and wheel rubbing su...

sounds like a nice idea, but sadly time is against me. i'm off in early june to france and have neither time nor the space to carry out any work on the vehicle really. hence the need for a good solid working one that isn't gonna break on me. Both Engines have their merits, would never toss in my T-...

That Coupes got Vitty sport springs and dampers on now, Rich Moss found the ride a little too hard, so I gave him a good price for them and he swapped the ones that he'd recently put on his 820 sterling. As I recall you just have to swap the top mount for a non-leveling mk1 820 one to put sport damp...

A dry boots is either a fluke from the factory or a sign that a previous owner has taken good car of the car, but taking the time and care to fix it. It's an awkward job and many people just put up with it. Wet boots are caused by the channels arround the outside by the seals getting gummed up with...

Cheers Rob....knew I forgot something. TBH...Dashlift on 800's are a given, but do try to get some money off for it anyway. For a grand you'd expect it to be the danglies, not even the 800 coupes are going for that amount at dealers these days :? But from the postage stamp picture...it looks tidy an...

Been looking on Marko's webstie and found this:
http://people.pwf.cam.ac.uk/mac65/T-Ser ... istons.htm
Any thoughts on what he says about M-series NASP pistons at the bottom.
I ask because I've been offered a Mk1 820e for nought

Piston Query.
I will be picking up my vitty 180 engine very soon, and have a question before I take it apart for the rebuild. I've heard that 180ps engines have better more durable pistons than there 200ps sport counterparts is this true. The block and head have recently been cleaned and polished, along with the ...
