Don't think the 2.5 Litre KV6 would be allowed .... despite weight, those extra 500cc and two cylinders would be a distinct advantage. Some road going Rovers had a 2 litre V6 I seem to remember. I think the early factory KV6 MG ZS touring cars' power units were based on this ... but, could be wrong...

This saloon you're looking at on looks good on paper, the chap has made sure the cosmetics are in good order, but obviously check all the m...

The sound proofing on the bonnet can be bodged with gaffa tape thats no problem. As for the coolant pipe, corrosion is common, but how bad is? If its bad then thats not good since you don't want it spurting a leak in frogland and cooking your engine. The broken gaiter, clicking, and wheel rubbing su...

That Coupes got Vitty sport springs and dampers on now, Rich Moss found the ride a little too hard, so I gave him a good price for them and he swapped the ones that he'd recently put on his 820 sterling. As I recall you just have to swap the top mount for a non-leveling mk1 820 one to put sport damp...

Its strange, MK1's were slightly better build quality at the core, but did suffer from bodyshell rust (particularly around the rear arches and the sills), whilst in the MK2 it seemed to be switched around, the panels are great but sum of the systems seem to be more prone :?

Don't touch these with a ten foot barge pole, they aren't the KV6's that you find in the 45/75/ZS/ZT. These were "prototypes" and were lucky to make 60k between HG changes.

A dry boots is either a fluke from the factory or a sign that a previous owner has taken good car of the car, but taking the time and care to fix it. It's an awkward job and many people just put up with it. Wet boots are caused by the channels arround the outside by the seals getting gummed up with...

I will be picking up my vitty 180 engine very soon, and have a question before I take it apart for the rebuild. Judging from the photo's I'd say you have what we call in the uk a "vitesse Sport", you've been given the lowdown on the engine and gearbox problems, so as a longterm 800 owner I'll help with the other possible issues to check for. Electric windows can start playing up at about its age, bu...
