I have an Advent 4213 (Intel Atom 1.6, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD), and it's great. I'm running Windows XP on it and I've had no trouble playing back DivX movies with it on my 37" LCD TV. It comes with WiFi, Bluetooth, a webcam, SD card reader, 3 USB ports, etc etc and it even has a sim card slot for m...

Ironically, if they'd just left it alone and then quietly requested Google to remove the images, then nobody would have known or cared about their "affluent" village. As it is, they've been in every newspaper and on every news programme, and on thousands of sites, not just Google maps. So ...

Re: Google streetview hits more problems.

I think Streetview is fabulous. Unfortunately the country is full of Luddites who just can't deal with the advancement of technology. The media certainly doesn't help. For example, the internet gets a lot of stick for being "evil" and "full of paedophiles and child pornography".....

While I was at university I got a christmas job at a local shop. I'd had my left ear pierced (two gold studs) and was told that to work there, they would have to be removed. So each morning I'd take them out, go to work, then put them back in after work. Soon got to the point that I just stopped wea...

I agree that Brawn look good so far. Red Bull should do well also, that's an Adrian Newey design. McLaren don't look to hot at the moment, but they will turn it around. It could benefit Hamilton's reputation - until now he's had one of the best cars, if he can win with a dog of a McLaren (much like ...

I've come to realise that performance evaluations are arbitrary and a complete waste of time. The biggest ARSE is that any stock we have bought recently we would have paid 17.5% VAT for. I presume this will be taken into account when we sell it at 15% VAT? For stock it should be, yes. VAT should be paid by the end user, retailers should not pay any VAT on stock after input tax and output ta...

I can recall playing Quake II online on my 56k modem, my ping was always around 150-200ms on Freeserve, as the best servers were in the US - there were always a few people on cable connections over there who had pings of less than 10ms, which made them formidable opponents, especially with the railg...

1997 Rover 420 SLDi for sale (cat C but a bargain!)

Due to buying an MG ZT CDTi, the time has come to sell my 1997 P reg Rover 420SLDi. It's the saloon version in Anthracite (dark grey). Cat C registered due to someone scraping down the driver's and rear door, but the damage is just cosmetic, will need a vic check though (formality, about £35 I think...
