It was lying in the showcase at the dealers together with the wooden one overhere. So they sold them as an optional also.

First time I'll miss this one also. 800's gather in Gaydon each year, but I just had my Cornwall trip and together with the VitSport wheels.....I'm skinned. :(

Just collected the wheels from the powdercoater yesterday and they are as new. Now the search for some decent tyres can start.

They're American 800 Mk1 badges. They never used the name Rober, but called them Sterling instead. I have a couple of them here, but it isn't a yellow cross, but a dark red one.

Actually that was a good thing. Mostly the saloon was used for bangerracing, which makes mine now rarer than the coupe. :wink:

Tha last batch of Mk2 ones have a better reputation. Don't mess around with other ones, it's not called an expansion tank for nothing! When tha tank is too small you'll lose coolant for no reason and end up with too little the next ride.

Totally wrong about the fact that Vitesse has no heritage here. We had lots od SD1 Vitesses, so I also don't understand why Rover did this.
