the rattle can coq is nothing like the proper paint though. I did a hockey stick and it stood out like a sore thumb :(

Take a small part (fuel cap cover) to your local paint supplier and ask them to colour match. May still not be perfect but it's better than off the shelf pre-mixed.

Depends where you get the cans from on how good the colour match is, halfords ones are too orange but ive had some mixed up at the local factors in fan spray cans that were a pretty close match.
Did the rub strips and grill on my coupe with rattle cans:

Thanks for the replies, thats a good idea wondersheep, thankyou. And that looks good Geo-coupe, I only need the paint to touch up a scratch so I wouldn't need anymore than 500ml. I'll update once I've got paint.

When I had some bodywork done on my NF red car the sprayer showed me how many different shades (paint "chip" cards) there were. Would suggest colour matching would be preferable to off-the-shelf which at best would be a compromise.

There are several shades of nightfire I believe. Take it to a paint supplier and ask them to match it to the nearest shade then make it up (most will put it in a can if required).
