a bit about my car project and my rovers

Post by e2jym »

now what i am going to say first will sound a bit daft but please bare with me as all will make sense i hope

first off im james 35 live in durham and love cars
my passion started t a young age dad told me by four i could name every car on the road
and grw up visiting meuseams and classic car shows riding in my dads trusty triumphs was great fun and the smell of hot gearbox oil engine fuel vapour was great as well as my legs sticking to vynal seats on a hot summers day well maybe not but you get the idea
i then grew to love triumphs and have owned several dolomites 1500 tc and a toledo

so where the rovers i hear you ask

well in my younger days i realy wanted an escort cabriolet and went to look at one and parked next to it was a flame red 216 cabriolet i had to have it looked much better than te escort and was better speced well after a while we parted company and i realy missed it after a succsesion of company cars i was out one day when i came across a rover 420 gsi sport so traded in my 318 bmw for it.

again head gasket went as did the car

on my 30th birthday my wife zoe bought me a rover 216 cabriolet in carabien blue now she doesnt drive so she didnt know a lot about cars with its leaky roof we used this car for a year however 6.30 am one sunday morning was woken to the sight of my car on fire

so i agreed with zoe not to buy another cabriolet until i had a garage had another rover a year later216 gsi bought off a nieghbour for 80 pounds as he was skint
anyaway when we moved to durham found myself eith an empty garage mmm i thought

my subaru got written off in july so i had to buy a car quickly so picked up a 214 bubble for 225 pound and realy enjoyed driving it insurance company paid up and so the quest began

after looking at a few i gave up

with zoe disabeld and money tight we spent some on the kids and paid some bill end of cabriolet i thought
then one tuesday night on ebay when it ws dark and raining i picked up this

my new toy which i will be spending the next few moths working on i will post picks as i progress and any comments are welcome
went to doctors and he told me not to buy any more cars in case i have a roverdose

Alloys removed?

:?

What's going on it if not SEis?

Also, Good choice, I think, picking up a Coupé boot - the Coupé spoiler looks particularly well on Cabrios, if you ask me.
