i had the blue ones on my old escort RS rep.
just dont let the police see you using them on the road as not only are those kind of light illegal for road use, but you could also get done for impersonating a police car/officer.... or so i was told.
they look quite good.. but you will get more 'laughs' than 'wows'!

I'm afraid they are sad by this stage. They've been done too much and on cars that don't suit them at all. I've often seen them on things like white Toyota Hiace vans which has added to their sadness.
If they had implemented a law in the 80s that you actually had to have something like a Pontiac Trans Am that was black in colour and vaguely the same shape then maybe they wouldn't look so naff now. If it actually had some function (maybe a parking sensor or perhaps an oncoming headlamp detector?) then at least people would know that they weren't just put on because the owner thought they looked cool.
I used to love Knight Rider and it does look cool on KITT, but because of so many cheap imitations on so many mundane cars it just looks sad on anything else now.
It might be funny to have a device with a voice synthesiser though linked up to a few things on your car to say things like "We're losing traction Michael" if your diff starts having to work overtime, or "super pursuit mode engaged" if you take it above 5,000rpm or maybe even "you're going to die horribly in a mangled wreck Michael" if it detects the ABS going off.

They are well expensive!
At UKMN this weekend, Fuel/MP were selling multi colour change LED undercar kits for £125...... so £95 for 1 colour strip, i think not.

2 Million colours eh? That'll obviously make it really really good then...

i think you miss the point, with 2 million colours, and with the effects available, it is possible to have some beautiful fading lighting effects, which would definately be better than a single colour tube..
