Exactly! That's the prob with them, bland and under powered.1994 BRG Coupe wrote:Considering that MG was the sporting arm of Morris its sad to see bland euro boxes carrying the badge.the only parallel I suppose might be the MG Magnate.

Its styling that counts, they need to look sporty to be MG's. These have no character. It'd be interesting to see a Clarkson reviewmg-richard wrote:People arent buying fast cars these days, its a niche market!

Good point, but it isn't an economy car either! It's stuck there in the middle with it's mediocre petrol engine...mg-richard wrote:People arent buying fast cars these days, its a niche market!
Sales figures suggest what they sell is already nicher than niche! I've read that MG 6 sales figures for May was 13, across 40 or so dealerships...mg-richard wrote:People arent buying fast cars these days, its a niche market!

Not quite. BMW finished Rover off, it was all downhill from that day. Then Phoenix 4 took over and all they cared about was lining their pockets. NAC were already in talks with MG-R about investing before the collapse in 2005 but the Chinese were wise and knew if they waited they could pick up the whole company for peanuts. That's business.noonan mckane wrote:They're horrible. Just horrible. In the future, I doubt we'll reminisce about MG going "Remember the one that looked like a Nissan Primera?"
I wish them no success at all. I wish they'd just take them back to China. I don't want to even look at them. That car company robbed us blind. They lied and they cheated and then they tucked what was left of our car industry under their arm and f***ed off, laughing.
I'd buy a MINI before I even looked at a brochure for their 'MG'. And I wouldn't use a MINI to put used nappies in.
