Just purchased a MG ZR
Hello i have just registered to this forum because i have finally after a long hunt found the perfect ZR for me. I have been looking for around 2 years now and nothing of interest popped up until 2 weeks ago. I went to view the car which was an ignition blue ZR MK2 and after inspecting it decided to end my search and purchase it.
Now that ive had it on the road for a week i have been thinking of ways i can improve it. Currently it has 16 inch alloy wheels but i have seen others with 17 inch alloy wheels that i like so ill maybe buy it a set of them. Was also thinking of some black magic rear lights or similar.
What other mods could i carry out on it to improve it ? These can be OEM upgrades
I will get pictures of the car as soon as my new camera arrives

Zt straights can be bought cheap enough,
Fitting the centre arm rest from a coupe is a good mod...
If you have matrix interior then monacos is a good upgrade...
X power lowering springs if you can find some,
Am x power exhaust is a good mod...

Re: Just purchased a MG ZR
I visited my local scrapyard and was able to get a set of near mint 17 inch straights with good tyres for £60. I was also able to get a new parcel shelf which was chucked in for free. Currently the scrapyard have about 10 ZRs so i have a choice of red monacos, grey monacos or blue monacos. I could not decide at the time but all are in good condition. The scrapman wants £70 for the seats along with the door cards.
I was also lucky to find a set of black magic rear lights on one of the scrap cars which i got quoted £20 for. I will go back tomorrow and remove them and hopefully make a decision on the seats

Always thought mk2 11 spokes on the mk2 ZRs was a good combo. No idea why it wasn't an option.
New mini wheels are also a fit, not sure if you'll need a spigot made for the bore though.

Yeah i suppose this is the great thing with owning a Rover/MG there are plenty in the scrappys and parts are ultra cheap. I will get they lights tomorrow when i go. I have still not decided on the seats yet.

You need the blue Monaco's to match the car, any others will make the car look naf.

Has that new camera arrived yet?
Some pics of this car would be great, especially before and after changes.
