Re: difference between crank pulleys???
Aircon will be an extra groove for a larger belt. I think it would be 5 groove on a std pulley and 6 groove on an aircon pulley.
There is always the possibility that it could jump a tooth and run out of line.

That pulley is only for ancillaries anyway though so worst case it cuts your aux belt and you get no charge or ps

I think it was Mitus who ran a non-AC belt on an AC pulley and had it slip off and cause the cambelt to fail as well.
edit... Found the thread. Looks like he was running an AC belt on a non-AC pulley; http://www.rt2468abcd.r8technology.co.uk/viewtopi ... it=cambelt
My red 420 had an AC pulley and I ran a non-AC belt for years and had no problems.

Re: difference between crank pulleys???
The alternator and power steering pump pulleys also have one less groove on the non-aircon setup. Presumably you're already using these?
It took me quite a while to source a non-aircon pulley for my setup but I felt using the aircon one was a bit of a bodge. However if people have run them without problems I guess it's fine
As an alternative you could always convert the alternator and power steering pump pulleys to the aircon version and source a 6 rib belt of the appropriate length.
