With a return to Uni looming, I can't afford the running costs of having a T-series Turbo anymore, so have been looking into the possibilities of getting a diesel.
I've seen a 220di thats got me half interested. Its an 96 N reg, with 150k on the clock for £950.
So, here come the questions:
A) What is the difference between an SDi and a Di?
B) What problems can anyone forsee with buying a high mileage one? (Turbo / Gearbox etc)
C) anything else I should look out for / tips etc?

Ah - good find, but i'm sure you can find one around 100k miles for that!

The S is the trim level, but exactly sure of all the details. Its the 'i' thats important - stands for Intercooled (105bhp version)

The L series is a superb engine, so I'd just make sure its been serviced properly, especially cam belt changes etc etc. Just check the normal things on any car of such a mileage.
