Hi could anyone tell me if the 17" wheels were a standard fit on the 1996 onward (200ps) model Vitesse. As there is a guy selling one on e-bay with 16"'s fitted and he tells me the 17's were an option. The car he is selling is also lux spec.
Thanks.
17" rims standard on Vitesse?

Hes telling porkies . I think I was looking at the car you're talking about the other day , but I cant find it now so I presume its ended .
Theres a Vit on eBay on the mo that is strange . Its a P-reg (Dec 96) which should make it one of the "facelifted" ones , but it has a distributor , coloured rear lights and black rubbing strips . Although it has the high level brake light of the facelifted model .

Hi mate,
The Earlier Vitesse Sport and later Vitesse(197BHP) 800s all came with 17' Roversport alloys. Only the 180BHP early nineties Vitesse's had the 16' IMO the 17s look so much better and probably drive better too (Never tried 16s.) You could always get a set, but you'd be looking at over a ton. Plus the if the guy didn't just sell them, he may have had an accident with them, and picked up some cheap 16s to throw on (I myself once tore up a 17' Vitesse wheel bong-ing off a kerb.) Be sure to check the steering/suspension is bob on pal.

Don't the pre-facelifts have a different style grill aswell, with black fins?
Couple of other things different in the engine bay to mine - fuel filter and ECU both mounted to rear bulkhead/firewall. On mine, the ECU stands behind the battery, and the fuel filter is down on the N/S wheel arch.
Odd one that car
