just out of interest. is anyone building the kit form remote control scooby where you get a new part each week

no, but on another forum that i used, someone worked out that in total u pay about Â£400 for it

you could buy that in any model shop for about Â£200 -if that!

its for 45 weeks. 44 of the at Â£4.95 and 1 at Â£2 = Â£220 approx

I aint collecting it. i had a petrol scooby r/c car fast as fcuk but couldn't keep it straight lol. So i have settled eith my new mini cooper electric r/c. With uprated speed controller and motor. (see i mods my r/c car too!)
The kit one looks like a tamiya one but not quite one. if you catch my drift.

I have a Electric Tamiya Mitsi Evo 6 in the loft cost Â£250 couple of christmas' ago, used it for three days, kept popping a driveshaft - got fed up so shelved it - if only real cars were that easy to deal with!!!

IMO boats are the best. ive got loads of them, and they are so easy to build because you dont have to mess about as much with stearing and gearing.... the only problem is when the petrol one dies in the middle of a lake!

you should make a tug with a strong magnet on the back overhanging the prop and have all the other boats a metal piece on the front nose and tow 'em in. We had that problem on the cars but the other way round when batteries go dead in the reciever

thankfully i was sensible and got a safety chip thingy.

i did think about that, but always managed by either pushing it back in with another boat or swimming

now i have found a lake thats only about a foot and a half deep, so its idea coz i can wade in... however, it dries up in the summer, so it becomes kindof a winter thing

yeah, when the reciever battery runs out and the motor stays running as it has a sepperate battery, u end up chasing it round all over the place.

i will post some pictures off some of my beasts if i remember tomoz.

I'm pretty sure you can buy that remote control scooby for Â£99 in most places. But imagine what that Â£99 could go towards on making your real car go faster...

i would think its a bit different to the kit one i'm building. it has adj camber tracking and height adj shocks. so far and only on week 7

sharky, the motors i used to get supplied with for my 1/8th car were a similer spec to the boat motors that company did. I think that was a scale 1500bhp (nearly 1000bhp/litre)or something silly so yeh, i guess the boats using them might be slightly quick as well.

Hehe, well since someone has posted a picture of a Piccolo model heli I geuss its ok for me to say anyone wanna buy one?

I have one with 35 hours airtime, very stable for a micro, very fast and unlike cars it can go up/down and hover too!

Seriously, it is for sale, complete ready to fly with battery and transmitter. It can be yours for a fairly measly Â£120..........

Hehe, my heli for sale is a piccolo...... Full control, as in motor speed (instead of collective), left/right - forward/back cyclic and left/right yaw. Top speed is probably on the order of 60mph but you can't see it beyond 30M so a bit of a non-issue!

A link to a vid of mine, bit of a naff cam so don't expect too much. This was done in my living room, heli is flying without a canopy since it is dead weight that robs flight time........

Wind, any heli's worst enemy! Aye, they don't like wind, basically, if its blowing more than 5mph best not bother!

Sharky, its the IC stuff. We coudnt run petrol in those motors coz of no ignition system (they revved to high) so alcohol/nitro was used.

Topic seems electric, oops. Just id heard the boats with car spec engines were silly fast.

a light hydroplane with a good nitro engine and you can easily hi 70mph.

I use one cam for all pics, purchasing decision was based on weight but the cam had to be 2mp at least....... turned out to be a Mustek GSmart mini 3. Less than 50g, very basic, CMOS. I was very surprised by the quality of the pics from the air, ground shots are not so good, not least because it has no LCD and the viewfinder doesn't line up with the lens well at all. Best bit is as a webcam it supports a genuine 640X480@15FPS, better than all USB cams I have tested, where most struggle when anything moves. It has 16mb onboard (fixed) and does video's at 320X240 with ok-ish quality. The vids I have posted do not show the quality well since they have all been reduced to 320X240 with WM free coder, when I code a file to 640X480 it comes out over 30X the size of the 320X240 version......

Cam is also for sale now @ Â£30 - boxed, as new, believe it or not! This is because I have just re-discovered my fetish with cars (as in, I have a 'decent' one now) and thanks to someone I now have a huge scratch down the side of my car, I need to arrange some motorised camera mounts to keep an eye on it when I can't............
