Gutless 400 diesel doing crappy MPG

Post by Podman »

I bought my mum a P reg 420d last year and I only just got informed that it does really crappy MPG. When I last drove it I thought it was a bit gutless so I decided to change diesel filter, air filter oil filter etc. Didn't seem to make any real difference to it. The bit that bothers me the most is nothat not only is it gitless but it does crappy mpg. Are there any common faults with the dervs that I could look for ?
