Well im turbo powered.....

Post by southside »

And bloody well lovin it!!! :D :D :D Only took it for a quick spin as it not insured so idnt go on any open roads but from what i've felt so far its lovely. I knew the 220's were fast but jesu i dint know they were that quick. The blose i bought it off claims its had work done by previous owner and its running 230bhp and its faster than his old sappire cosworth but i think he's probs talkin out his backside as theres no paperwork to confirm anything being done other than a dump valve. But i've never been in another 200 turbo so i dunno what to compare it to. Oh well what ever its running im bloody well impressed with it. Only problem now is insurance :(

Oh and by the way. Anyone thinking of buying a car off ebay and trying to claim the 7-days free insurance read the t&c. I rang up earlier and apparently you have to be over 25 to get it now so i had to tow it 37mile home down the m6 on a towing dolly and its the first time i've ever towed on the motorway :|

Nice one Sean. I know you've been talking about wanting a turbo... and now you finally have one!

Out of interest, what sort of quotes have you been getting for the car?

lol, indeed.

I went from a 116bhp 214 Sei to the coupe turbo, first night I took it out, let it heat up then floored it in 1st, logger myself and took the foot off again, it was un-nervingly fast (RR @ 189 bhp at that time), how things change lol, faster faster.....

Congrats :D The turbos are a bit quicker than you expect at first, whats even more annoying is going from a turbo back into a 1400, as when you go to overtake you forget its not got the Punch the turbo comes with!

Welcome to the turbo club! also known as the 'Empty Wallet Club" ;)

I sometimes think I should just get my salary paid direct to Shell, and cut out the middleman...

The speed and power are like a drug... it gives you a massive adrenaline rush, but after a while you become used to it, so to get that same rush again you have to spend large sums of money to get more power from your car... it's great fun though!

Nope I've found the cure, and it's cheap! :D Use a 1.4 for a while, then when you get back in turbo feels so much quicker :D Repeat everytime you start to get te feeling "this could go quicker" :D :D

Try HIC, and if possible put an older named driver on be it your mum dad etc quite often helps get the price down, also don't go silly on the mileage 7,8000 a year covers most people
