Whats it worth??

Post by craigwint11 »

Right, ill start off with an apologie... as ill probably get complained at for posting this!! So sorry in advance, if admin want to remove it or whatever, feel free.

Basically, i have got to the point in time where i am purchasing a house. a 22 yrs old i dont have massive savings, and the way house prices are, its gonna cost a fortune!!!
i dont really use my car as i have a works van, so ive got two options. Justify keeping it as i hardly use it so therefore hardly cost me money. The other option is to sell it. But... i dont see the point in selling it if its only worth like 1k or something. so im just wondering what you people thnk its worth. heres the spec:

1995 N Reg Tahiti blue 220 coupe turbo. its an f d h so has 3rd brakelight and dark grey interior plus aircon which needs regassed. Tax til sep, MOT till Oct. Boost guage, powerflow exhaust, air filter, baileys dump valve. currently has 17 inch alloys on it. body work is in very good condition, a couple of little dints and 2 scratches. no rust or anything. The car has 52500miles on the clock. i got it serviced on jan the 4th at my local garage and have done 68 miles since then and that includes the 10 mile trip from the garage!!
cambelt was done at 38k and as far as i am aware everything else is working. (pasenger door wont open from inside at mo, but fixing that tomoz). The drivers florr pan has been slightly bent by previous owner jacking it up. It was like this before the mot and it passed without a problem so isnt an issue. (it wasnt a backstreet garage by the way!!).

So am just wondering what yous think its worth!
Cheers
Craig

I've seen them fetch as much as 2k on ebay because so many people fall for the F.D.H trap. A genuine tubby with low mileage still fetch good money though as believe it or not they're still rather sort after. Most examples are thrashed with spaceship milage on now :(

The next person to make an F.D.H related post is gay.

and likes relationships with animals.

There, that should stop a raging F.D.H debate.

Cars nice, I rekkon 2K as its low milage etc etc.

Yes its true, but the problem is how many people are going to have negative comments in their valuations because they personally don't believe they should be worth any more.

The valuation should be made from recent and present sold listings from ebay and advertised prices from websites and classifieds such as the auto trader etc...

After all they do generally fetch more money but also fluctuate in price regularly just like any other car.

Simple answer i think your car is worth around the £1800 mark. May fetch more though on ebay or the auto trader due to the mileage being low.

I would say around £1800 but I reckon you could get 2k for it. :)

its true though. look how many people on ebay give all the bulls**t about them being jap imports and they've got an extra 20bhp as standard e.tc e.t.c and the general joe public fall for it hence they tend to sell for higer prices.

Anyone could right a load of rubbish in an ebay ad.

to be fair, if anyone buys an f d h thinkin its way better than a none f d h and thinkin its got an extra 20bhp then its there own fault for not doin research... i paid 2.5k for mine bout a year ago... yeah, some might say its expensive... but i bought it with 40k on the clock and had cambelt changed, recent service, bodywork was fine, no rust etc, so in my opinion it was well worth the money. others will say i paid too much, but thats there opinion. people say cars are worth what someone is willing to pay, so i was willing to pay that and did!

So my cars worth aroun 1800ish then according to a couple of ppl on here... really dont wanna sell it.. havin just cleaned it!! think am just gonna have to scrimp n save and see how it goes. cheers for your comments and points of view, much appreciated!
