Rover 600 Turbos

Post by jimjimjeroo »

Which ones were turbos,

I know of the 620 Ti werre there any other models?

The reason i asked, is someone on here posted about a 620 GSi Turbo?

Been offered a Dark blue Ti with 67k FSH, pretty tidy too, has a/c and a sunroof!

These cars have man quirks?

Cheers!

As far as I'm aware, the only R600 turbos are the Diesel and the Ti. No petrol GSi turbos left the production line as far as i know but maybe the diesel 600 came in that spec.

That sounds well worth looking at. Like any other car, they do have quirks but when well maintained, can be virtually quirk free ~ well those I have are.

Check ALL those things you'd check on any older used car ~ ALL 600s are old cars now ~ the only thing on the ti which can be a bit 'quirky' are the rear wheel arches which corrode if owners are too lazy or ignorant to wash away regularly the road mud which accumulates there. Gearboxes give problems IF the gearbox lubricant is allowed to progressively escape via worn oil seals.

Search here and over on MG-Rover.org for more detailed appraisal listings as the topic has been extensively covered.

Find a nice 620ti ~ there are still some about if you search patiently ~ and you'll be pleased with it ~ I am.

Here's one I bought last spring ~ one of the last off the production line with 69,000 miles on the clock. Drives like a new car ~ no aches or pains:

Good luck ~ from what you describe, that car is worth a closer look.

Mines got AC & a SR. It's got a nearly full service history & there is no rust anywhere, even the paint on the inner wheel arches is like new! If it's been looked after it's always a bonus.

Ditto -Mine's a minter too, they are out there, but be patient there are alot more dogs than nice ones.

This may sound a bit suspect but try to avoid trade sales, I looked at a few in garages and they were all over priced tat and looked like they'd been picked up for a few hundred quid from the part ex auction and then bodged back to life.

if you can excuse minor mechanic issues like drive shaft seals, window mechs, and the clock and the aircon the body work is as new :D
