Think Dan (Din) was saying some time back it took a guy he worked with (Rover mechanic) 6 hours to do one, special tools needed, horrible job aparently.

You're looking at an engine out job if time is a necessity, otherwise it'll take several days I'd imagine. Insanely complicated job, theres a video on youtube showing you how to do it with the engine out.

The roumours are right then :( someone said its easier to whip the donkey out, ive not got the time to do that as it would tie a ramp up at work. I know a rover guy local who might take it on. Cheers guys

The book time for a cam belt change on the ZT190 is around 7 hours. If you've not done one before, allow at least a couple of extra hours. You will need to have the appropriate cam locking tool (there are 3 different types for the KV6 engine, depending upon capacity and power output).

Tippex won't do it - the tools don't just help align the pulleys. The videos on youtube are an excellent way to see what's involved in ~20 mins.

One a fortnight could be a nice earner for you though if you were so inclined, fair play anyway :)

ill be honest its sounded like youve done well there without the aid of the proper locking tools etc,a frined of mine payed the 500quid to have his done last year, then a month later someone crashed into him,car was a write off and its been sat in his garden since.

five stars for doing it yourself too fella, helps you know your way round that engine a little better i expect?
