620sli 1993 L in nightfire red, 79000 miles with complete history from main dealer turned specialist after the demise, paid 495 quid for it from an old dear who's husband had passed away and didn't need such a large car. After my 318ti compact its a dream, drives perfectly, everything works (which is something the BMW failed on massively). Bought it because i needed a family friendly car that wasn't going to rape my wallet for repairs every couple of months, and needed it it to be cheap to enable me to save some money to by a nearly new car in the summer. Bought a rover because my old P reg 214si was brilliant, but lI ike the 620sli that much (and so does the wife) that it can stop until it n longer works. Its found a place in my heart that it will never lose!

Flame red '96 Ti half face lift 620 with 74k, spotless interior, ditto exterior, non abused standard car with a slight appetite for head gaskets.
Bought it cos my dad had one new in '96, me and my best mate took it out for a quick spin while they were on hols and put 300 miles on it slaying much more expensive machinery!!

No one knows how quick these cars are. :D

Lowly 620i owner now.....

Bought it cos its big (wanted an 800, but insurance would have been way to much!) and can fit, literally, a small band in it! a PA, Monitor Speakers, Main Speakers, Leads, Mics, Stands, Guitair, Bass and electric drum kit! (Well, i dont know anyone with an electric drum kit, but theres space for one!)

Costs a bit more than i though to run though, so thinking of maybe trading it for a Tourer......maybe

Rover 623iS

Post by Millerboy »

Just joined because I'm on my 2nd 600 and I've started noseing around on t'internet! First one was a 620Si which got rudely modified by a trailer (with an XJS on it!) and the replacement is an M reg 623iS. White, 17" vit wheels, lovely motor, but something must be wrong with mine, I've got 315 miles to £53 so far, and thats with a mixture of driving! Love the space, pace comfort and equipment, oh and the purchase price! :D :D

mmm 600 power. :P
Wow, Some things change in 3 years, some things don't.

My mate still has his 600td going strong.

My 620ti doesn't resemble its earlier self at all.

And I now own my m8s ex runabout 620ti, which is doing very nicely!

I'm still not bored with 600s

Having cut down on my 'fleet' recently, I'm down to my last three 620ti :~

Here's my latest acquisition ~ in beautiful White Gold :~

Image

My old faithful T16 TBO ~ actually one of the last made ~ was originally V-Reg :~

Image

..... and finally, this Charcoal N-Reg currently on SORN :~

Image

Why so many ~ well apparently they are so unreliable ~ like all Rovers and MGs some say, that you must have several back ups ... everyone knows that ..... ;)

Mind you, in fifty years of driving these cars, MGs and Rovers, I've never had an unreliable one. Always a first time. I have bought the occasional problem cars which were unreliable in previous ownership... I enjoy sorting those too. Then they become reliable... :D

Meanwhile I's still thinking .... ;)

Plus I've bid on another today .... ..... there's no hope for some folks ... I'm hopelessly doomed ..... :scared: ...:D

The White Gold car has shaped up far better than I could have hoped for. All it needs now is a Tow Bar ... I have one of those ready to fit .... my cars have to earn their keep....

620 Si, 98 R reg, nightfire red. 100k on the clock, part SH, but all the old MOTs so mileage genuine. Bought off the 'bay without seeing it (might not have been a good idea). Having a lot of Jap underpinnings hoping she'll be reliable as budget tight at the mo.

It's stood still for past 6 months as owner went to Thailand for a few months break, then met a women & decided to stay there (wonder why ??).

Not sure the 6 months of inactivity have done her much good though as she's developing a few problems.

Which is how I found RT.

If I can get her running smoothly, and find an extra 5 mpg, she'd be a keeper until she dies.

Rear door cards need the material sticking back on after a run in with the previous keepers little child. As for outside issues they are small things like a ding on the bootlid and a scrape on the nearside of the rear bumper and the laquer on the rear nearside door handle has started peeling.

They (all three) look fab !! My youngest son now has rights on my 620Ti, as I bought a nice 35k miler MG ZS 180 V6 in Trophy Blue. The 620 is going through a "repairs" stage recently : Both track rod ends, attention to the rear calipers and pads for the MOT etc The calipers were new last year along with reconditioned fronts at the same time : New discs all round too. Now we've discovered the tank leaks around the seam :x (see separate thread).
