The Streets

Post by Leo »

What's people's opinion on them? And I'm talking about the music band people, rather than the state of the roads...

I didnt' used to like them much but after Fit and you Know it, I started listening to it a bit more, kinda growing on me. "Fit" makes me laugh, the guy's accent is weird but makes it funnier - "Bit too motch fake tan tho"!

Found another one on Kazaa, called "Dry your eyes" - very unlike them, quite an emotional one in fact.

That'll be all.... :)

p.s. - what P2P programs do people use? I've been a Kazaa user for ages.
91 Citroen BX GTi 8v - bought March 13
95 Ford Mondeo 1.8i Ghia - March 11 - March 13 - scrapped
98 620 SLDi - July 08 - March 11
97 420 GSDi - dumped in France
94 420 GSi Turbo, 235bhp. Dec 03 - May 08, still missed
93 214 Si - June 02 - Feb 04

I thought the same, even with Fit, i thought it was bit cheezy, but they've been playing the whole album each day this week on Sara Cox, and I must admit, I thought the one today (can't remember the title) and the "dry your eyes" ones were really good, and i will be acquiring the album :)

I always liked these guys. I love the geezah accent too. Oi faught awl Saaaaf Landanahs faulked loike faa innywaaays, innit?

I thought their last album was great and I was pleased to hear them back again with Fit. I liked that track the first time I heard it. Great lyrics. Rings true. Just goes to show - you should write about what you know.

I just heard Dry Your Eyes on the radio tonight. Sounds nice on first listen too.

I quite like em, but i ppl like them cause of their novelty value, nothing else about like it, and the lyrics are funny.

I use Warez P2P, mainly broadband users, and no pop ups or spyware.

But they're just words! That's not a dialect! And it's lucky charms!! Get it right you plastic paddy!

This is how you might hear Dublinese spoken (a common form of Oirish):

[Damo]Ahh jayzis-howare-ye, Jacintaaaah! Oill have tree jayzis pooints uh Unkel Aaartur's and tree for Decko an' Antooooooe! Oh, annah feckin pack o' twentee Carddles pleeyez!

[Jacinta]Dere ya go, Daymoe, loooove! Dat'll be tirty tree bleedin' eurooowas!

[Damo]Deadly buzz!

Personally I think they suck as far as the music goes, it's not musical in any way IMO. But then again I'm more into rock/metal with proper guitar solos etc. (Metallica/Iron Maiden/lost prophets)
However the lyrics are pretty funny, so I quite like listening to Fit but you know it when it comes on the radio, esp the bit "and I stopped sharkin' to get chips.... and drinks" dunno why but that cracks me up.

They must have hit the big time! They played Fit on Radio 2 last night!

Only the 2nd time I'd heard it, and it raised a wry smile or three :D

I think 'Fit' is one of those tracks that grows on you - if you haven't heard any of their stuff before you might think it's a bit cr@p at first...but after repeatedly hearig it on the radio you think it's funny, especially the guys voice - his accent and the way he says stuff makes it sound so sarky!

I've been listening to the new album a lot recently.
I think its excellent.
and yes, Blinded by The Light is quality, and "empty cans" (the last track) is good.
In fact, he whole album is really good and is a story from start to finish.

check it out.
