bargain price of 20 grand for a 12 year old car that maybe has done 7000 miles, but the engine bay looks like it's done 70,000
don't see anything at all special, and i'm sure they fail to say the records probably been beaten several times since by other cars

Its a bit too expensive..but it is unique and historic as it looks as though it might be preproduction as well. Didn't someone buy a video of this landspeed record event on Roverload?? and they weren't they planning to rip it??

I thought it was sold, the bloke who bought it took it to trax last year.
He wouldn't tell me what he paid for it.
It has a BIG intercooler and a BIG turbo

And a BIG fooking price tag, 20,000 pounds!
Perhaps it has been sold, maybe the site hasn't been updated.
No wonder he wouldn't tell you what he paid for it lol

Exactly what i thought. Clearly announce that your rover turbo has been thrashed hard for hours on end and then ask 20,000 for it. What a great idea, i'll take mine to a track just before (if) i sell it, thrash it for hours until it gains a few rattles then advertise it for £15,000.

Re-post!
Yep it has been sold, and IIRC it didn't go for anything like 20k.
I was also suprised that the intercooler and turbo where different, when i thought they where supposed to be as per road car?

This was an advert?
No firm history, no spec, bonnet full of filler, had been stood for the last 13 years and they wanted £20k?
C'mon guys, the 1st April was aaaages ago!

Ahhh!!!! That reveals how much it went for in the end.
A bargain for a piece of history imo. The engine was probably stripped and inspected after the 24hr run, so I wouldn't be suprised if it was effectively overhauled at the factory.
