absolutley do not bother with the pipercross filters-there crap,i've had two naff up on me in the space of two years!.
The first one split down the join that holds the foam of the filter together-which left me with a gapin hole in the filter sponge!.
The second one simply fell into two pieces!!-ie--the cone fell off leaving what was left(the base part)attached to my elbow which goes to the throttle bodie/manifold!!,which leads me to another point-if you want to go down the filter cone route-id personally get an induction kit with a silicone elbow-there are variuos places that do em-i got mine from motobuild!,you'll find that people have mixed opinions about there quality of service etc-but generally ive always found that if you get dave on the phone you're sorted-he's a really nice guy and very helpfull!.
they can take ages to get hold of over the phone though(its always ringin -people with querys etc)-i l know from experience, havin been stood in the shop tryin to talk to em!!.
as for the cone itself id probably go for a k&n or someting of that kind-i think apexi do one that comes very highly recommended-excellent filtration characteristics/power/noise gains etc!-hope this helps!!

EVERYTHING IS NEVER QUITE ENOUGH!!

Lol, but that's not really fair. Type in "air filter" and even with selecting search for all terms, you get 500 matches. Sifting through your first 2 pages of returned threads can often yield nothing relevant!

Definately and enclosed one for the VVC engine.
From the ones I have seen tested, the ITG maxogen flowed more than the engine needed. A Vader from Mike Satur was also very good. The Viper runs out of puff at around 180bhp, but the Tiapan lost my car power at under 170bhp.
Could be my engine, but that's what we found even tested them on a BRM and a Vi but they are not that modified.

not sure mate. had it r'rd with just the filter at t&m's and got 164bhp. now its got a 52mm tb and cat back 2.25 inch ss exhaust. also got the filter running as a ram air. it wasn't on the rollers just somewhere away from heat.
coupe 180

powerflow cat back system. 173.5bhp (engine advantages 12/12/04)
Standing quarter......15.60 @ 88mph on the 18's

I would always say go for something that is enclosed.
Otherwise you'll find throttle responce sluggish at low revs and when you've been in traffic.
Hotair in mine makes the difference between tearing your face off when flooring it to feeling sluggish and dead as a doornail.
Think I've sorted it now
