Just been reading about this in autocar..

Ultima with 6.2l chevy small block 640bhp has just broke all acceleration records.

On pump gas
proper street tyres etc
It was a std top spec ultima gtr coming in at 65k!

At bruntingthorpe

0-60mph in 2.8sec
0-100mph in 5.9sec

and 0-100 - 0 in 10.3sec!

knocking the caterhams 500's and radicals etc into touch!

It is all going for the 0-200mph record soon

My Dad built an Ultima GTR about 3/4 years ago. He also put the 6.3 V8 in there but his was stock at 450bhp.

His 0-60 times were around 3.5 secs.

Surely its not a production car if its got a modified engine though? I mean if you twin turbo'd and supercharged a McLaren F1 it would probably do more than 240, but it wouldn't be a production car then would it?
