What BHP will I get at the wheels at Millway? Results

Post by Tom™ »

Ok... the day is nearly here... and if i remember, Daz posted a similar thread about his car.... so place your bets... what bhp figure will my car get at the wheels... at Millway...

at this meet...

http://www.rovertech.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19484
http://www.rovertech.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20693

and based on these specs

http://www.rovertech.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19600

what bhp figure will i get at the wheels...

(this is not meant as any form of wind up, just thought it would be fun to see how close we can guess)

Tom

Ive no idea what you'll get, but I expect it'll be pretty damn high.

For those of you who dont know, Toms motor is very very fast indeed, I know because Ive been in it and it was very impressive.

The last car to impress me was a VXR 220 Turbo that I was lucky enough to drive for a weekend. So high praise indeed for his car.

With all those questions about gas turbine engines at Donny, thats got to be your next mod right?

1650 SHP @26500 RPM. An overhaul would be a little expensive at 250 thousand pounds but it'll last you 2400 hours.

Go for gold on the rollers Tom. Just dont blow it up.

It'll make 400bhp with that bit of stainless tubing from the IC to throttle body

If you run one bar through that turbo you will make around 240 at the fly, which will be around 200 at the wheels IMO.
I made 218 flywheel bhp at 8/9psi with the same turbo, and some other bits you don't have.

Yes .. I did post a similar thread. Unfortunately a hole appeared in a piston just as it was reaching peak torque of around 300lb/ft

I don't think I'll be in a hurry to post a similar thread :( Dam .. I miss my car

My 2p worth is that the car engine will make around 230 at that boost level. All you really have is an engine that will take more power and not fall to bits. Biggest gains will come from better fuelling (e.g. mapped ignition / DTA injectors) and upping the boost on that turbo. I suspect you already know that most power will come when the boost gets raised to 21+psi

all IMHO though.

If I recall, bigG had 8 injectors and higher boost when he attainted the magical 300+

Itd be interesting to see how much power it makes with mems, but i recon it might not be too high (i voted 190 at the wheels (which i know is still high lol)).

i guessed 210bhp at the wheels

I think you will have roughly the same power as me if all you run is 1 bar.

My last RR i got 211bhp at the wheels, although i think that was a bit high :P

the main reason this will be interesting for me... is later on when i replace mems and fueling... see what the change in power is running at the same boost...

just re read that, and that is awful english, but you get what i mean...
