Hi,

220 Coupe, just for the looks :-D it's not the best as standard, but well makes up for it on a sunny day with the roof out.

Cheers

Rover 75. An excellent styled car from the outside, resembles a Jag and excellent comfortable interior. Really nice car.

I think my favourite modern day rover has got to be the 200 BRM LE. I like everything about this car bar the the insurance grouping. Its rare, different and the ultimate of the range being more advanced than even the ZR.

I can't really suggest car but the Rover V8 is the best thing to ever come out of the brand.

The best looking IMO is the Coupe up til now. The best all rounder? Not too sure - Ive not experienced them all so hard to tell, probably the ZS180.

620Ti for me.
BUT, ZS would be better IF it had more power.

Personally I just love the look of the mk1 400 when it has the spats etc fitted. Dunno why, probably cos my first rover was a 400, plus the 420 turbs is much more of a street sleeper than any of the other turbo model. :)

Rover 214 SEi M218 *** a.k.a. dog-mobile. Takes a beating, then just comes back for more, with only minor faults. OK so I hate it, but I hate it so much I love it :D

I think it's got to be my old 1988 MG Maestro 2.0i, went through the wars with that car, and still looks good today. My Dad now takes care of it and it takes care of me dad!
First car i've ever owned that went off the speedo dial at 130mph down the M11 and it was still pulling... ;)

Got to be the tomcat coupe.
However I recon drivingwise the std brakes were crap and the body flexes way too much!.

An old rover coupe(3.5 v8),it looks like the roof has been chopped.
It would have potential to be a big muscle car.

Biased i know but got to be the turbo coupe crap suspension but with a sub 7 second 0-62 and 150 mph its got to be that one.The added bonus is when you say "i drive a rover"and they give you the whole prejudice rovers are crap thing(as they are always people that know nowt about cars) and then you show it to them and they look gormless as hell and give you that sort of non-believing/that can't be a rover/jealous look, its unbeatable. My mum says it was her MG Maestro Turbo Just when the "HOT" hatch golfs, xr3i's etc were hitting the 9sec 0-60 and 115mph along came this sweet humble little hatch that could litterally blow every other hot hatch(and lots more) out of the performance water. She says does anyone remember the advert for the non turbo maestro on all the bill-boards it had a maestro crossing a 0-60 style finish line with the quote:"The Golf GTi 16v will be along in a second"(in the days when you could say stuff and get away with it even though it was true).

Defo 220 turbo coupe.

I had a VVC and it was great, and I know the GsiT and GtiT look good but in the end the coupe is the better looking and 150mph and 6.2 secs to 60!!!!!!!!!!!

The SD1 was pretty phenomenal when it came out too, loved it when I was a kid.

Wasn't the Rover V8 actually a Buick engine from the states though??

The Rover V8 was an ex-Buick engine but was heavily redesigned. The yanks couldnt get the hang of an all alloy engine and had corrosion issues so the brits made it work. It was also too small for the american market hence why we brought it.

Rover 820 Vitesse 2 door coupe. 200bhp and 0-60 in 7.2secs.
All the old reviews about this car are utter crap and peaple must have never been in the car.

A very rare site, very fast with room for friends in the back or in my case the mother-in-law.

This site seems to have a lack of 820 owners. But I enjoy reading about what peaple are doing to their cars.

I'am about to add powerflow exhausts and K&N panel filter.

I'm gonna be a right rebel here...

THE METRO!

OK, it had some fundimental flaws but... it was the UK's top selling motor of the year more than once, it allowed development of the k-series engines, kept the MG brand alive during the 80's after the MGB demise, spawned a rally program with the 6R4 (yes, I know it wasnt really the same car...)!

This small car which was supposed to be a spiritual sucessor to the Mini, kept going 18 whole years alongside it and was just as British too!

All of this helped keep Rover alive and kicking and allowed them to keep the cash flowing in to work on the Honda partnership work.

It also spawned the development of what became the mk3 200.

Any doubts about the popularity of the Metro - Watch and see how well its own Spiritual Sucessor the CITYROVER sells later this year!

Although the downside is that its not a British design or even made in the UK :( But thats a different debate altogether :D

Fav rover has got to be my current one, the 820Turbo.

I aggree with gsls48, the reveiws on these cars are rubbish. Like he says, plenty of room, has presence, makes people look :D Admittedly its not as sporty a ride as the 200's, but at 19 im getting old and need a smoother ride :D

Hope my new sig works...
