600 ti Rover Motorsport edition ever heard of one ??

Post by listie »

Hi all

Got chatting to my local rover dealer yesterday, who it turned out was an ex Ti owner, he went on about a very very limited edition of the Ti built by Rover Motorsport? He thought only a handful where built maybe only 5, but they came with a SW autodesign kit, which included a silverstone front splitter.

The other things he remembers them having are

Electric M3 Mirrors
18" compomotives
Big brakes
Full Recaro interior

Anyones every heard of this before or was he pulling my chain??

thanks

Si

i've just seen one of these advertised for sale somewhere recently, so i think that may suggest theres some truth to it, however, i was under the impression it was just a bit of badge engineering.

They exist and do have the kit, but i think he was making a bit of it up like the 18" rims and m3 mirrors, and id say there were more then 5 made!

its horrible.

the wheels look sh1t!

they detract from what is otherwise a very rounded car, the bumper and the colour dont suit it at all.

just my opinion, but it lookes total logger (and i actually typed logger and not the bad word cos ive deceded that logger is my new word for the bad word (if you get my drift)).

Not sure but it could be that the drivers seat has an extra sliding bit at the front, if you get what I mean :D

I have to say, what I like most about this interior is the lack of walnut.

I was gonna also say I like the grey "wood"

I'd like to replace mine with that.

And why is the passenger front seat different to the drivers one?

Hmmm, yellow! That's ace! :D

Not keen on the wheels but the rest of it looks alright.

I like it, i'd swap mine for it. :)

I'd imagine that the drivers seat has more adjustment options than the passangers.

I think it looks grim, the colour looks nice on a Fiat Coupe, but not a Rover. I think it would look good in a dark colour such as Black or BRG with some 5 spoke 18" Wheels, that look like the spokes go to the edges of the wheels.. As for the yellow inside, Hmmm..
I have also seen Kernahan Sport special 600's around The Oxford area, I am sure they had 18" Wheels too. The M3 mirrors are available in all good halfords stores, I might add.
