I couldn't find blue bulbs either, so I used blue leds, they work really well just a bit of a fiddle soldering the resistor thing to the +ive leg of the led.

I would think the quick way would be to put a thin layer of paint on them. I've seen this done before.

Can't you wrap the bulb in a old sweet wrapper, like the ones you used to get in quality street.. :)

I'm pretty certain that the mk2 clocks are lit up using an orange filter with white bulbs, therfore you can just change the filter.

Try buying a multipack of Fox's Glacier mints and use the blue plastic from this! thats what i did on my metro clock :D

The 2 flood light bulbs have an orange plastic filter, I made a new filter from clear plastic, then coloured it blue with a permanent marker

I've used 4" cold cathodes from a pc shop, £4.95 for two including the dual inverter. I connected two sets to the front interior light so they operate whenever a door is opened and I can switch them on manually with the switch on the front interior light. I have placed the inverters in the headlining and it looks pretty neat.
Oh, and I have blue led replacement bulbs in the interior lights too. Look even better when the windows are misted up.
