This morning I come out to my car to see the remains of a massive rocket 1 metre from my car

IMO if you want to see a good display, go to an organised one, it is cheaper and more impressive!

What is the point in setting off a rocket in your back garden, which people will see miles away a lot better than you will right underneath it! Add to that the fact that certain people enjoy throwing the things about the streets when they get their mits on them....BAN 'EM!!!

Fireworks should be banned for the general public.

Anyone who uses them are just idiots, making a noise and wasting money.

Why waste £100's on crappy fireworks in the back garden when you can pay £2.00 to see a show, with proper fireworks.

Down here Fireworks have been going off for almost a month now, November the 5th has passed but cod and chips twice please around here haven;t noticed that.

BAN THEM!

You're not the only one to find the remains of fireworks this morning.

I came out today to find a 1 metre length of wood half buried in my front garden from my neighbours display last night that lasted over 2 hours - grrrr!

Another 2 metres and it probably would have gone through my turbo windscreen!

there's been fireworks let off around here for the past 2 weeks. it takes the tripe n onions now. I'm furious that it should go on THIS long!! I've had enough of little celebrations where people waste their money - bonfire night, halloween, valentines day.
Just my little rant.

Funny you should say that, for valentines day this year i was 11 months into a relationship with a girl from work. i don't celebrate halloween as its an american tradition, and bonfire night i only go to the local schools display. Just think its gone a bit out of proportion.

I think all celebrations are blown way out of proportion, even Christmas, what a load of old cobblers that is. No one believes in God or practices Christianity on a daily basis, yet they celebrate Christmas, how pathetic! All because they get a presant!

Pffffff .... all celebrations are money making schemes for sheep.

You know when I was a lad, I had a wooden train given to me for Christmas, and each year an extra bit would be carved out. It started off as a small log. Then the next year my dad carved the general shape of the train and I got that for the next Christmas, the next years xmas present was the same train, but extra carved out, like the wheels and so on. After 10 years it was finally finished, and on the year it was finished, my Dad used it as fire wood in the great winter of 88, the same year of the black firewood famine. I was gutted.

Bloody kids these days, they don't know what Christmas is.

Generally I don't have a problem with fireworks, BUT what really gets my somebody that I used to know is the ******* that let them off at midnight and beyond
I'd rather pay a couple of quid each and go to a display than buy them now as 30-40 quid for a box that contains about 20 'things' that may or may not work seems like a complete waste of money to me!
Mind you, best display?? World Banger Finals at Wimbledon! Always pull all the stops out, and I'm sure the Chelsea Pensioners think WW2 still going there THAT LOUD!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Bonfires rock as they happily go on to the next morning and cause nobody grief. Fireworks? Yeah, no problem, we used to make a single bonfire for the whole estate and set off the whole estate's fireworks in one go, good larf. Over last 5 years or so though bonfire night seems to have turned to bonfire week; taking the tripe n onions somewhat and kinda defeats the point.

Yeah - just standing talking on the pavement, big bang, then a shower of flak comes falling out the sky!

My car was covered in ash the other morning too

And yet another 1m long firework 'stick' half buried in the garden less than a couple of metres away from the car - cnuts  That's 3 this year now!

I love fireworks.

Leaving it all to the professionals would take away all of the fun - like running back to the HUGE air bomb thats tipped over and is pointing towards you.

Or playing Danger UXB (most of you too young to remember that program) on a firework that appears to have gone out without working.

Or doing the frantic firework box shuffle when an errant spark has landed in your open box of fireworks.

Keep it public.

My poor cats were hiding under beds everywhere terrified.
And it was nearly impossible to watch Simpsons on C4 last night when you are in the middle of Bosnia.
Keep em to displays I say.
No more kids firing them at each other in the streets wasting police and hospitals time and no more tying fireworks to animals and killing injuring them.
Yes another dog this year had a rocket taped to his muzzle when it was let off

If I saw some kids doing that the next rocket would be inserted up their bum then see how they like it

This morning I found within a 10 metre radious of my house 15 empty casings...

Does take the tripe n onions severely how many of these are going off, half of them hardly get any height when they go off, as a result when the last bits of burning gunpoweder/debris hit the ground, they are still alight.

Could have been a major fire hazard.
