While downloading, I know it's a 400 . Same colour as the one they had in the live The Bill episode which they intended to turn over but the ramp wasn't high enough so it ended up on its' wheels again.

That is a fair comment, but it's too easy to tar all car drivers with the same brush. There are dangerous bike riders in similar proportion to dangerous car drivers. The only real difference being, is you can see a car a lot easier. It can be very difficult to spot a bike if you're pre-occupied with traffic or whatever.Stu C wrote:Just notices too the git hasnt got any tax on his car![]()
But on a serious note, did the bike have its lights on, i cant really make out. If all bikes drove with headlights on then there is no excuse not to see them.
I use country roads a lot, and in the summer all the bikes come out. I am always as accommodating as I can be at that juncture. The proper riders take small risks, but ALWAYS say thank you on the way past if you move over for them. Conversely there are lots of idiots who dip in and out and force you to accomodate them, they're usually hanging around in your blindspot anyway.
I am not slating bike riders by the way, there are plenty of brainless car drivers too. When I was at school a teacher driving an empty minibus killed a bike rider because he came into his blind spot and got knocked off when he turned off the road.

Don't worry Stu I noticed it tooStu C wrote:If you notice when the bike crashes into the car, his door light is on?? the big red light in the middle of the dash is on.
Also i think its his handbrake light thats on too (on the right hand side)
Lol i watch far too much telly
Probably just the first car they spotted at the yard with dents in the right places and no reflection on us Rover drivers at all
as a rider and car driver i agree with C2K on this one, idiots drive all modes of transport. advert is to point out that bikes ARE hard to see (ESPECIALLY if your on your phone/eating/playing with radio or just generally not paying attention) as a motorcyclist we DO not have that luxery not paying attention will kill us!

You can have 2 100 watt retina burners on high beam and it still happens.
If it wasn`t for the fact that most bikers are VERY aware of what happens at junctions and are usually ready to take evasive action then there would be a hell of a lot more of these collisions.
Speed is irrelevent i have more dices with death on my Scooter at 30mph than i do on the Ninja.
Why i ask....i can only assume it is beacause the Ninja can be HEARD,(race can)coming to junctions or in the rear blindspot of a car, drivers know it is there.Scooter is almost silent and cannot be heard over the sound of other traffic.
Why the F*ck the politicians are making bikes so quiet is beyond me
Noisy pipes save lives.!!!

Yes the 1199cc beast is certainely audible with a race pipe fitted, it makes a lovely deep growl at low revs, and sounds like an engine thats twice as big and powerful as my ZX6R's, (probably because it is!).
As for the ad, it IMO is worth showing no matter what the car was used, as like others have said serious motorycle accidents involving cars at junctions, is a depressingly common occurance, and it's nearly always due to Driver's not looking/not seeing/ or not reacting correctly to what they do see. It's a very different scenario to the large numbers of single vehicle accidents on rural roads involving motorcylists, and other instances of bad or dangerous riding etc.
The best ad for bikers ive ever seen on TV, was that one they used to show in ad breaks during MotoGP races, where the biker rides a route with lots of different hazards, and he gets warnings about them on road signs all the way along the ride. This was a good ad, as it did make you think as a rider, about what if's, and the fact that in the real world you never know what is round the next bend, be it a large vehicle on the wrong side of the road, a tractor pulling out of a field entrance, or mud left on the road etc.
At the end of the day anything that raises awareness of motorcylists and makes people both drivers and riders think about the possible outcomes, of not being observant at all times, is a good thing. Less death's due to people just taking a bit more trouble to look for other road users before they complete a manoeuvre, would be a very good thing!

I used to ride a 125 aprilia scooter and I had no end of very near misses (and one that didn't miss
) In fact in the first six months, I'd had to break that hard that often that I went through 2 sets of pads, one disc and 2 sets of shoe brakes.
I don't understand how I could have been missed - Bright YELLOW bike, Bright Orange helmet and ALWAYS on a minimum of a sidelight.
TAXI drivers were the most common culprit!

lol, I dont think they picked a 600 to get at rover drivers. They had to use something....
I am usually ok at spotting bikes at junctions.. the worst time however is at night (dark) in slow moving traffic when changing lanes. It's extremely difficult to spot a bike in the mirror when all you can see is a mass of headlights blinding you. Esp when it's raining, and the bikes still insist on going inbetween the lanes quite quick.
No excuse for not seeing a motorbike in the day really though.
