was just browsing for rover bits and saw this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ROVER-TOMCAT-TURB ... dZViewItem
Aparently "when engine was replaced an induction kit was added but engine was not put on comp to set up so on fast acceleration it missis slightly as to much air , only costs £60 to be done just havnt had time to get it done drives fine boosts fine on graduall acc. you just cant wack the pedel straight to the fllor."
hmmmm. yes, of course...an induction kit causing "too much air" can obviously cause it too misfire
Sounds like whoever replaced the engine for this chap has been telling him porkies. Probably told him he'd replaced the flux capacitor too
