Hey all. My cars been off the road for a while and i just want it back on the road now, i'm sick of fiddling with it when really i'm not sure what i'm doing.
I've had a go at timing my cams but have no idea if its right or not and i cant seem to get the thing to idle on mems or my lumenition ecu.
As much as i hate the thought of being a chequebook modder, it'd be sooo nice to give it to a pro with a rolling road and say 'sort it' and drive it away mapped and timed up correctly. I know friends have said they'd help but its finding time we're both free and i cant really map on the road with no MOT.
So - who can recommend somewhere in the midlands that can do something like this? (ie mapping my lumenition and cam timing on vernier pulleys). Any help/advice would be muchly appreciated.
TIA, toby.

Nowt wrong with being a chequebook modder Toby.
It just means that our skills are elsewhwere ( not quite sure where, in my case though).
Besides
I'm no longer a chequebook modder.
I found the hole to top up my oil the other day, all by myself - how's THAT for independance and consumate ability?

Thanks for advice.
Paul - i didnt intend any offence with the 'chequebook modder' quote, i just like doing things myself, i love the satisfaction of getting things working myself.
Ritchie - yes, i went to a RR day last year there and they were a sound lot. Anyone have any contact details? I cant find a website.
SkyRocket - Thanks. I found their site and mailed them.
Thanks again all.

I think sometimes the lack of stress and effort involved in getting somebody else to do something outweighs the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
Saying that, I'm a tight git and usually end up doing it myself anyway...

Can you time verniers? I dont mean the cam timing on std pulleys, i mean tminig high lift cams on vernier pulleys with a dial gauge using the lift at TDC method - i've it and it might (Should?) be right but i at least want it checking.
Cheers tho.
