Help! Buying a 220 SD - need advice
Hi there, I may be purchasing a Bubble 2.0 Turbo Diesel on he weekend but before I do, is there any problems specific to this model that I should look out for when viewing the car?
Any help is appreciated.

I've heard MAF sensors can give trouble, and cost around £200 from Rover, but have a read throug this site as its most helpful with the diesels

Pretty much then same checks as you'd make to any other car, mk3 isn't that much different to a coupe really

Lol, that would be a quarter of the price I'm paying for the car.mach1rob wrote:I've heard MAF sensors can give trouble, and cost around £200 from Rover...
Car looks very tidy and will suit as my runaround. Done 4000 miles in 5 months in my Supra Twin Turbo and running out of money fast!
Thanks mate, reading that info now.

Dont suppose these things can chipped or anything like that. I know you can convert a diesel to LPG and instead of more economy it gives more power
Nah, it is the DS so just the 86BHP but to be honest I'm not too interested in power as I got a 365 BHP Toy to play with when I want some fun! I'm impressed by the constant 50MPG I get out of the Rover and its only group 5 insurance so works out at roughly £210 a year fully comp.
Got a strange problem though with this one, its lacking low down power I.E it struggles to pull away unless the revs are above 1800 RPM.
I've read that the car has an injection pump that is belt driven and therefore needs to be timed properly. Anyone know how to re-time the pump?
