Just wondering if anybody had the pukka gen on this one please

Just replaced the drivers air bag module on my car and the old one is still live.

What are the disposal requirements for an old air bag?

(Divorce is not an otpion BTW - BEFORE some wag decides to make that comment ;) )

Can you just chuck it in the dustbin?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can't put it in domestic rubbish, you have to take it to a waste disposal center (recycling center), who should discharge it before disposing of it.
Unless you feel safe discharging it yourself

I would just wang it in the bin tbh, the bin men around here annoy me anyway so should keep them on their toes should it decide to cause a fuss.

i think a 'controlled' explosion is perfect evening entertainment for a quiet sunday afternoon. Find something to blow up  , then film it for us...

Interestingly, my car is 10 years old in Dec and I was wondering if I had to replace it or it's just a suggested thing to do.

There was an article on TG not so long back, when they crashed a 600, the bag went off fine, think it was a 95, try looking on the TG website should still have the info on there I would of thought

We had to remove one at college when one of the cars were being scrapped. It came off a mondeo an we thought we'd better discharge it before chucked it away so we put it in a big oil drum and kept smacking ith with an iron pole but it never went off and it took some abuse. So i cant see it going off just putting it in the bin. Until the bin lorry crushes it anyway.lol

1x upside down dustbin

They set 1 off on mythbusters and tried to get buster in the air with it.

Just find something to put on it, stand well back and give it 12v and post the video
