Replace the 620ti with what??

Hi,
I'm in a position to replace my 620ti with something else, but the question is what? Within my budget are:
MG ZT-T 190
Mondeo ST220 (the only Ford worth considering)
Audi A4 Avant Quattro
Alfa 156 Sportswagon V6
X-type 3.0 Sport
Any opinions? I know you'll all provide sensible advice....Oh, and if anyone's interested in a 1994 vintage 620ti...

£10k, plus whatever I can get for the ti (lovely example, new cambelt, head skimmed, stainless exhaust, etc, etc!)
You can probably tell I really fancy a V6....

Personal fave of mine MK2 MG ZS in Black - get some Leda coilovers - Hayaward and Scott/Piper exhaust - BMC induction and still have change from 10 for a cheap holiday...
At time i too miss my V6

For that I'd want a V8 ... A Rover 75 or MG ZT V8. Seen nice ones go on ebay for that sort of figure.

To replace the Ti, you'd want something that gives you the same experience.
So... something that puts a big smile on your face, but also pi$$es you off big style... something that costs a lot of money, which you'll never see back... something that never seems to look as good as your mate's one.
It's simple... you want to get a WIFE!

From your list, in particular order
MG
Jag
Audi
Mundano
Alfa
But I'd also have a look at an XJ8 especially the R

The X type is probably the closest in terms of subtley (sp?) to the ti - so either that or a ZT if I was choosing.

Due to car allowance restrictions at my new job I have been forced to buy a quite new car. It's a shame really as I was more than happy with my Vitesse coupe.
I got a 2004 Astra coupe turbo for £6500 with 71K miles.
It's a little faster than the Vit and the steering feels sharper, though I have not really pushed it fast around a corner yet. It's got modern gizmos that tell you when a bulb's gone or something's at fault, but it's not as comfortable and does not feel any where near as luxurious as the Vitesse though.

Must admit, I think those astra coupes do look smart. I take it's the 2.0 turbo one if it's quicker than the vit?
What's the deal with these jobs that make you buy a new car anyway? Should sucky to me

To have their car allowance I have to go on their group insurance scheme which is restricted to cars under 6 years old. Either that or drive one of their company cars. In my grade that's a Pug 206 1.4 diesel

The car allowance and the saving of free insurance makes it worthwhile to buy my own car.
I've read conflicting information about their performance.
Some places state 190ps and 0-60 in 7.0 sec and 149mph.
And others say 197ps and 0-60 in 6.7 and 151mph.

Thanks, Calibrax! I already have a wife!
I think a XJ is a bit on the large size..! I've decided I can't get an A4 Avant as my brother has just got one and that just wouldn't do.
I reckon either the ST220 or the ZT190 (estates both as you don't know what the future holds....). The 3.0 X-type estates are too new to be affordable yet. The ZT260 is far too thirsty for London driving!!
Cheers guys

If you like the Ti why not go for the modern version. The accord type R. No turbo but 220 BHP.
