where can you get a t-series turbo engine for fairly cheap? i was thinking of getting on from a 620ti. how much would one be?
also would i need to do extensive work to fit it to a 200 bub

You'll need subframes, engine mounts, adapter plate, loom, ecu and various other things. Best off getting a 220 or 420 to do the conversion.

seconded, the amount of little odds and sods youd need to make life easy or just to get it to work are many... Try and get an accident damaged/unrepariable 220gsi/gti turbo, 420gsi turbo, or coupe turbo.
the engines in a 620ti and vitesse are fairly similar, but there are issues with ancilaries/sumps/pipes etc etc... You could use a good one from a vitesse to replace nackered bits in a donor car though, but ideally the donor car is needed.
there is a wiring harness conversion guide in here also posted by vi turbo which i believe is very helpful.
where you based?

ps. would i need the sub frame from the 220gsi and how much moding would it take to fit a mk3 bub?
cheers

Subframes bolt straight in, if you do get a 600 or 800 turbo engine, you could use a knackered 2/420 nasp as a donor, it doesn't have to be a turbo, but it helps with some of the other stuff like rad/frame/fans/piping if it is, but genuine turbos aren't exactly common, and start using good ones for conversions you're liable to be lynched

And, of course, avoids the potential insurance nightmare of an engine conversion.
