Fun in the Snow...

Post by bill_620turbo »

Seeing as there was about 3 inches of snow and uni was closed for the day , we thought it'd be rude not to have some fun in the snow

Spent most of the day drifting at 10 mph!

Health and safety types..please note , this was a private car park and it was also totally empty , no people around.

Great series of pictures ~ I particularly liked the last one.

Spot the different speeds of the various wheels in those pictures.....
Apparently ... in a parallel universe MGJohn drives ....wait for it..... A ..

Thanks . I overexposed that last picture , which is why I converted it to black and white , think it salvaged quite well.

lol Haven't done that in years. Used to have loads of fun in my dads Volvo 240. Taught me a lot about car control and driving in the snow and ice. I'd recommend anyone to give it a try providing the car park is empty.

Quite often do that if it's snowed in the works car park.. sadly it ain't that big..

Sadly there hasn't been that much of a downfall round here, snowed this morning which layed but by afternoon it was soggy logger that you couldn't do shite on..

:kewl: Brings back memories of a similar midnight escapade when I was at uni in the mid 90's.

A mate of mine had a very late Sierra Sapphire 1.8 (his dad ran a fleet and he used cast-offs before they were auctioned).

We came out of the Union at about 02:00 in pouring snow and decided to go up to the (smooth, empty) Chancellor's Building car park and practice some powerslides in mate's car.

Must have been doing this for about 30-40 minutes and had built up a small crowd of on-lookers before the Uni Security people noticed us.

We scarpered and ended up in a "chase" down to the other end of the campus so my mate could stick his car in my rented garage.

Security used Bedford Rascal vans and were a bit more circumspect driving on fresh snow than my mate was...so much so that we actually waited for them at one point and still completely lost them again after that

Good times :D

I got a few minutes in last nights :D I also managed to get the car driving properly at 45 degrees. I can't remember managing that in the 200 :)

Shame the SD1 isn't running at the moment...
