Over The Moon With MPG

Post by PIRTEKMAN »

Hi all, just been down to Torquay for a weeks holiday.Total distance from my house to hotel 230 miles.Took 3 hours dead on to get there (Private road all the way)My car is an 800 vitesse and I didn't hang about getting there.Total fuel used was 33 litres which gives a miles per gallon figure of 31.68 mpg.I was well impressed by this and the car went like a dream all the way there and back.Just thoght i'd post this up as i've nowt else to do at the mo,that is except wash the car to get all the dead bugs off it and make it nice and shiny again.Cheers Big Al. :D

My coupe turbo is getting 230+ miles to a full tank at the mo, well impressed. All of my others have struggled to get much past the 200 mile mark if that.

:)

Another happy rover owner! Good Job! :D

My 216 K series Coupe was doing nearly 400 miles to a tank when I was on holiday in Wales, did 360 miles with 8 litres remaining and 375 with another 7 litres remaining, so nearly 40 mpg :D Now that i'm back again i'm getting the usual crappy 30 mpg :( Don't understand it, I wasn't driving any different over there than I normally do, maybe it was the Welsh mountain air...

Oi, no dirty smoke blowers in here thanks Steve :P

I took my car to a rolling road in Gloucestershire in May, and some heavy right foot there, a few runs on the rollers, few passenger rides and a heavy right foot on the way home (playing with a Civic Type R that was at the RR) got me 300 miles exactly.

Well impressed 8)

I can get 36mpg in mine but can't boot it for that figure. This is in the Emerald 3-way map 'low' setting, 223bhp, set with shorter pulses for economy. :)

However in the full-on 'high' setting of 281bhp, driven with any spirit, about 20mpg is good! :o

Never actually measured the 'medium' 258bhp setting but recon that 28-30mpg would do it if driven relatively sensibly.

I must admit I was hardly ever on boost and at bang on 100mph I was at 3800rpm. Would love to get on a runway a few miles long and see how fast the vitty would go (and by runway I don't mean the M6 motorway :) )Cheers Big Al.
