Rover based kit cars
I've always fancied building a kit car and as I've always had Austin/BL/MG/ARG/Rover cars something based around one of these would be a good idea.
Which kit cars are use Rover group products,
web links would be appriciated.

Again just the engine, but limpabit's 5EXI is worth a mention.

Was looking at the Shelsley before mine (even have the build manual). But on pricing, was a bit more expensive than mine. Same for the GTM Libra. I also already had a T16 turbo lump so the GTM was out.
Both nice looking cars.
To be honest. T16 turbo in a light weight body is frightening! My choice would be a VVC. Fun, with a car that don't want to kill each time you put your foot down! Especially with a GBE. Full boost at 2.5K.

Seat 1.8T, 550 genesis injectors, T28 turbo from a Nissan Pulsar, MBE engine managment, Jabba baffled sump.
Rover uprated PG1 box and Helix 6 paddle clutch kit. Custom 3" exhaust from Zorstec. Non CAT.
Mustang Chargecooler.

I originally started moding my montego estate with the intention of robbing the bits to fit on a maestro/Banham RS200 bit sadly they folded.

Yup. Andy sold his V8 Westy though, and bought a Radical last summer. He took me out at work in the V8 Westfield, and I admit, I nearly sexwee'd.benno_bro wrote:That car is simply ace...and goes some tooC2K wrote:

Was the Phantom Vortex the really expensive £20k+ kit car, that used the Honda 827 V6 engine? It's so beautiful for a kit car, and id like one, but who would spend £20k or more on a Kit car, thats worthless compared to a modern sports coupe that would not depreciate very much. It's like the choice between a BMW 330ci coupe, AMG CLK coupe, or an almost unheard of and unwanted kit car, that has no real image or desirability.
