Rover 220 Coupe Turbo, SOLD AGAIN....Finally sold it!! YAY

Hi guys well the time has come to sell her, some of you might remember i post i made some time ago asking should i sell or not and i decided to keep her.

Ive done loads of work on it.

Unfortunately it failed the mot not on much but i will listen to senible offers for as it stands if thats not good then i will do the repairs and put MOT on it myself before selling her.

It failed on:

Drive shaft gator split
Both side rear trailing arm bushes
2 front tyres gone on the inside edge
Emissions but that is only due to not having a CAT

Since it's been off the road i have done the following work:
Stripped top end down and rebuilt replacing all gaskets, seals, H/G, bolts and anything else that i thought needed replacing (H/G wasn't gone)

Replace turbo with a nissan 200 sx hybrid turbo which i was told was reconditioned but i Took the car up the road the other day and i think the turbo oil seals have gone, i bought the turbo second hand and was told it was a recon but this cant be the case. and modified it putting the rover compressor housing on it and forge adjustable actuator also forge bolt on D/V.

Mods it had done when i bought it where:
Bad boy bonnet (passengers side needs rubbing down and painting due to its cracked)
Clear side repeaters, lexus smoked rear lights, tinted rear quarter windows, after market steering wheel, (LOUD) straight through exhaust, 17" MG Straights, blue samco boost hose.

Bad bits: There is 2 patches of rust on the hole car and its the usual bit on the drivers side rear wheel arch still solid at the mo.
Other than that the car is straight and tidy.

im sure ive missed bits so i will probably be updating this post as i think of things.

This was a really hard decision to make but due to parking issues and me having loads of cars this one drew the short straw.

I would like around £600 for it as its probably one of the tidiest ive seen.

LOL i wish i could get rid of the van but i cant carry a 650 litre water tank and all the rest on a mountain bike lol, yeah spent a fair bit of time and money and it's still not right lol so got to go lol although it's nearly finished.

LOL Ross, thanks i know u would but im not that far away really lol, and lol if you had it i could sort u out some good chemicals to take home so u could get it looking as good cos all our chemicals are trade use only so its super strong and easy on easy off type chemicals lol

NOW back up for sale due to KNOB head time waster who said he definitely wanted it, paid a deposit and was coming tomorrow to collect it so i got the car ready gave it a full inside and out valet fitted a CD player as i removed my DVD player then i get a txt saying "sorry mate im not coming tomorrow to buy the car ive decided i dont want it anymore but can i have my deposit back....."????? WTF?? .......UMMMMMM NO!!!!! that's why sellers ask for a deposit to stop time wasters so i now have to pay to re-advertise it on piston heads and other places. GRRRRR

Mate i sympathsise, i Had sold my car 4 times only to be let down every time .
Like yours mine was a genuine cheap motor that was cared form,bt eneded up being a total arse when it came to selling

GUTTED Jules 4 times that's bad, it is a pain in the a*se mate but thanks i will if not i have some quotes on storage containers for cars so i might do that.

Unbelievable what do people want? Blood?? I'm gutted for you mate. This car looks an absolute steal. Folk need to realise how good a deal this car is. To put things into perspective, by the time I've had my new gearbox fitted, I reckon it'll have cost me in the region of £500 with everything included. And your cars up for only a ton more than a repair.

You'll get there in the end though I'm sure. Like Jules said, it just takes time. I fancied his car to use as a 2nd motor to teach the g/f to drive in, but predictably insurance on that car for somebody who hasn't passed her test was a tad steep Same for yours too (I've already confused.com'd it!!)

Yeah i know Ross but i know what im like if i store it, it will just get left an left an left until one day it's rotten and paint knackered and not worth a penny, the business is really, really busy and its just getting busier so i dont think it will end up being done if i keep it thats the risk.

Also the expense of storing something that i might not even get round to sorting out is it worth it

I did put it through the mot but it failed on the bits listed in the advert, i really need the car gone A.S.A.P due to my landlord so i dont have time to do the repairs it needs to pass an mot, also if i put mot on it then i would not be selling it for £600 as with mot it would be worth more. Quick update i put it on Ebay on Sunday night and someone has clicked buy it now so i might have sold it if the buyer is GENUINE???? i dont know we will see.
