Rover 220 Coupe Turbo FDH

For sale Rover 220 coupe turbo tahiti blue N156 FDH 101000 miles.

I have owned this car since 3rd september 2008 and its been a great car to me only reason im selling is because i want a Honda integra, so firstly im going to list everything good about the car.

Taxed until 31st October 2012

MOT until 28th May 2013

Mongoose decat back stainless exhaust system (standard rover original cat for MOTs supplied)

Baileys venturi twin piston dumpvalve

Apexi induction kit

Battery to boot conversion

Prosport LCD boost and oil pressure gauges very accurate

Lowered on Gmaxx shocks and springs (40mm)

White MG alloys 17inch (slightly wrong offset so rub a little)

Very tidy full leather interior

Japanese flare still present in passenger footwell

GBE style ball and spring type boost controller set at 13 psi

Toad AI606 alarm and immobiliser fitted with 2 fobs

Magnecor blue HT leads

New battery fitted in January 2012

6K HID kit fitted stadard bulbs included for MOTs

I dont have receipts for this work becaue its pretty much all been done by myself, but you can see for yourself its done. I do have a receipt for cambelt change on 12/02/08 on 79500 miles,there
is also partial service history to back up a headgasket change back in 2003 which you can also tell it had a klinger fitted by looking and it doesnt weep any oil from right hand corner.There is also
an invoice for a passenger side driveshaft from Jan 2008 and plenty of old mots and bit and bobs including service book stamped up until 48000,i even have the emergency disarm pin and warranty document
from the day it was purchased.



Bad bits
Slight tick from manifold gasket on cold start fine when warm, i think a bolt maybe loose behind alternator as it was changed at 92000 along with studs will try to fix before sale
Bone shakeing G maxx suspension i did not fit this
Rust on both rear quarters and front passenger wing
roof paint is scratched to pieces not sure how its got like it lacquer problem?
Typical T series sticky valves shortly after cold startup scooby sounding
slight clutch judder in first gear been like it since i first purchased

Oil pressure light sometimes stays on until you raise the revs from startup,this sounds worse than it is. If you search my threads for oil Pressure? you will see that i asked about this back in Jan 2009 and still didnt manage to
cure it. There is an oil pressure gauge fitted and it has extremely good oil pressure, so i really dont have a clue what causes it. Even on the hottest days driving on boost it will drop to a minimum
of 2.1 bar on tickover and cold starts it sees 5 bar everytime, high revs shows no issues for pressure averageing over 6.3 bar at 5k the engine is also very quiet no tappet noise etc. I was also
not told about this when i purchased the car so i was quite livid but i wouldnt want to do it to someone else.



All in all the car drives very well, pulls hard and drives straight steerings very responsive and would be perfect for someone to tidy up and enjoy. This has been an everyday car for me and has never
let me down please dont be put off by the bad points come for a view and test drive before deciding.

Price is £950 ono.

looks like a superb car and worth every penny of the asking price glws :thumbup:
94 420 gsi turbo sadly gone , 91 ticky turbo gone too!now a 97 TI ,cams, induction, exhaust etc, .Daily commute 91 216gti TC burgandy and factory A/C sensible and frugal !!!

All rust photos added and an interior shot aswell, its still like that inside but that boost gauge is the old one and the gear knob wont be in sale or headunit thanks :)

Lovely car, GLWTS

My roof paint is going like that...almost like someone has been sandpapering it without me knowing.
Any idea how it gets like this?

Sometimes the lacquer coat fails if the car has had paint, and the prep wasn't that good.

it's had no body work done ever...apart from one sill welded (and the anti roll bar bracket)

If it helps, to repray that roof should cost no more than £70 but i have seen one member who just carbon filmed it. Adminitiedly he went on to do most of the car but it looked alright.

To be honest it wasnt exactly faultless and the bodywork has seen better days, i will miss that car though it didnt sell to a forum member it went on pistonheads in the end some guy from sunderland seems a decent guy though 4 and a half hour drive to pick it up :)
