2001 Trophy Blue MG ZT 190+ SOLD

Post by zozzie_9t9 »

MG ZT 190+

2001, 51 Reg, 2.5 V6 190PS, Trophy Blue, 113,000 miles with six months tax and six months MOT.

For sale, my 2001 MG ZT 190+. We've owned the car since March 2010 and we're selling because we now have a newer car (a Mark 2 ZT 190+!)

This is one of the earlier ZT models (Commission number 1925) and means it predates some of the Project Drive changes. It features the earlier 'standard' suspension. This was later an option as Sports Suspension with the standard offering being softened a little. It is quite hard but not uncomfortable at all and it really does add to the feel of the car. The car handles perfectly - with brakes only a few thousand miles old (that's front and rears and they can rearrange your internal organs if you make an emergency stop!) with various suspension parts replaced, the handling is like new. The car drives very well and eats the miles cross country with ease. The Plus spec gives all round electrics and ATC climate control - it still has its Dealer fit Kenwood head unit with its 6 disc autochanger which works perfectly with the steering wheel controls.

Although the car's mileage is 113,000 the engine has only covered 38,000 miles. Six months ago the car was loosing coolant and it appeared to loosing it within the engine block. We decided to replace the engine as it would be cheaper than trying to trace the fault. The engine is lovely and smooth and was fitted by an MG-Rover Specialist in Beverley, East Yorkshire who look after all our cars. It pulls smoothly through all the gears smoothly and relatively quietly as you'd expect from the KV6. The 190's can get around 33 mpg on a run which is pretty good for a car of this size!

The car's body work is good condition with the odd stone chip on the front. The only noticeable mark is small dent in the rear passenger side door - done by another car's door within 24 hours of me getting the car! The interior is in very good condition with the alacantara upholstery - there's wear on the bolster of the driver's seat, but I believe this is now a standard feature of ZTs!

Ours was used as our family car and the boot took the large pram and all other equipment very easily - a family with two small children would easily fit everything in they needed - they make excellent family cars. We had a all luggage for two adults and a six month old going to Cornwall not long after we got the car in the boot with room to spare! They're 4 star NCap rated - this would have been five had all airbags been standard on not options in certain cases.

Price is £1300 ono - not the cheapest you'll find but the car is easily one of the best early ZTs around. Not looking for part exchanges (only an absolutely mint 620ti with a very low mileage would be considered as a part exchange!).

Test drives are very welcome! The car is located three miles outside Beverley in East Yorkshire.

And one final thing - all proceeds go to my 620ti fund!

Re: 2001 Trophy Blue MG ZT 190+ 113,000 Miles Spares & Repai

Since I tried to sell the care we continued to use it for a while, however it hasn't had many miles put on it since the photos were taken. It was SORN for a little while but then we MOT'd it and began using it again, then the clutch went. It has been stood for a little while now but other than it's very good condition.

If you've got the time and inclanation you could have a very nice ZT for very little!

Thanks! That'll be my next move I think - might have to wait 'til I'm back from a week in the Dales.

I'm sure there'll someone on there who might want it.

I doubt it, they are all scared of changing a clutch.
Or maybe its just the diesel owners.
