mk3 turbo road legal trackcar

Post by jase »

Looks like im not going to be doing much this year as still sorting out moving house. By the time thats done i may need to spend time in the new house so next year might be out to!
So the only sensible decision is to sell my trackcar :( And who am i kidding, im not getting any younger and i cant get the best out of it anyway.

This will most likely get broken as its worth a lot more in bits. But its easier for me to go as a whole and more beneficial to someone *should* they want it!

I wont list the spec, hardly anything is standerd. (my sig has an overview)
negatives are its a shed, no mot or tax (can be driven) the engine smokes on the overrun from high rpm and it needs the tracking doing (it pulls with a slight knock on left lock - nothing major tho)
Whole it gets a buyer a car with many years of development. It handles extremly well and will lap as long as the driver can. As i drove it to and from trackdays a key factor was reliability.
Only twice has it failed to get me home, my first trackday when a fuel pump failed 3 miles from home and most recently when an ebay CV seized.

Ive timed the car with a 0-100 of around 11 seconds, which was from a dire 0-60 of 6.5 seconds.

£2750 (will need to be trailored - which is a shame as its never been trailered anywhere)
If anyone interested let me know and ill provide more details.

Shame, as we never did a day together.

Interested in some bits though.

yeh id love someone to buy the car whole as ive not really got the most out of it. tbh id really like someone to get it and muller my laptimes with it - its much faster than what i was doing with it, i was spending to much time looking after the engine and tyres thinking about modding it and waiting for a good reason to go mental.

indeed, with us all spread about and so few is seems good times wernt to be.
There are some quick cars and good drivers on this forum and its a pity we couldnt get together more often.

Odds are car wont be sold so yes, all bits will probably be up shortly!

Oh dear, this has brought a tear to my eye, cant you find somewhere to stash is for a couple of years?! I regretted selling my red Mk3T (best colour imo, even with cr@p paintwork they still look ace when the suns shining!) I Hope someone either buys it for the right money or you can find a way to keep it, I hate seeing excellent creations like this get broken, and watching the gannetts decend

:sorry: all that aside good luck with what ever happens mate

jesus mate :( only the hardcore remaining - you were one of the first!

That said, I'm in a very similar position myself. Mine hasn't turned a wheel in such a long time, sad thing is I can't ever see my self getting round to sorting it out.

I moved house and had a ton of stuff on and car has been left unloved.

not sure what to do with mine

best of luck jase

thanks mate.

Yes id of expected that car of yours to be finished given how long ive been away....
life shoudlnt really get in the way of our rovering. Im sure the ford and honda boys dont leave there cars unloved over minor things like moving house, families, work etc etc!!

I think if you can you should keep it tbh. I know its easy to say either way but as many have told me - selling them is often regretted!
