It is a mid facelift 1996 N reg, with all later type differences such as wasted spark engine but doesnt have body coloured mirrors and air con.
Been family owned (by my mother) since 2000, and well looked after. dealer service history to about 66,000 when she bought it, and then ever since it has been serviced at home and oil changed and flushed every 6000 miles.
klinger head gasket fitted around 80,000 miles, and never weeped since, timing belt was done at 90,000, many reciepts to cover this period.
I bought it in 2006 with 110,000 miles on the clock.
at which point it recieved new gearbox bearings, oil, clutch, front discs, pads, bearings. last year it recieved a brand new fuel tank due to a leak and a new clutch slave cylinder.
The car has just passed an MOT with new rear discs, and a CV boot, and is taxed for 5-6 months.
The engine is very strong with no rattles, knocks or smoke whatsoever. It starts on the button without fail.
it has been running on a boost controller set at 11.5 psi with no troubles for a year. The old valve is still in place, but needs refitting.
This and some clear side repeaters are the only modifications.
comes on standard 16" alloys, which to be fair are looking a bit tatty, and the tyres are all towards the end of their life. (I do have a set of 17" vitesse for sale too though)
Bad points are below (always some)
There is a rust scab appearing on the rear archs (see pics) and the passenger door has recieved a nice dent and corner of the bumper has a scuff from some careless parking by my housemate's peugeot.
The flexi section of the exhaust can rattle a bit, so probably needs rehanging or replacing, its not blowing anywhere though.
otherwise everything is tickety boo, and I think any viewer would be impressed. there is so much life left in this old beast yet, and I am rather sorry to see it go.
