!!!STRUT BRACE!!! ROVER 620Ti !!!UPDATE WITH PICS!!!

Post by bryan2009 »

So, after looking about to find a strut brace for my rover 620Ti's and having no luck at all cause noone does them to fit the 600 body with the rover engine (or not that i can find anyways)!!

I'm going to start producing front strut braces for the rover 600/620's using highly polished stainless steel. a prototype strut brace is being done this monday so we can build a jig that will alow us to make every brace exactly the same without having a car every time one is made.

as i said before it will be done in highly polished stainless steel to a very high quality standard, untill the prototype is done i dont have any pictures however on monday i will have some with it fitted to my car.

for now i am seeing if there is an interest from other 600 owners to judge if it will be worth making more than one and how much each unit will cost, with the usual.. the higher the interest the cheaper it will be.

for now each unit will cost about £95 to the end user though i would like to bring this price down myself to gain others interest.. however we are not skimping on the materials used, we are not willing to compromise quality for the sake of a few quid.

if you are interested please let us know in this thread so we can get a final price together...

***EDIT***

SOOO, here we go!! finaly finnished... wooo hoooo!!!

Here's the pics of how it turned out...

I have some pics of them being made up, i'm just waiting on the camera the pic were taken with being dropped off and i will post them up..

I'm sure you will agree that taking the extra time to get it perfect has payed off.. what do you think?

i am now starting to take orders, so if your interested contact me by pm and we will have one sorted out for you, and now we have all the bits ready we're are able to make 2 or three a day so there wont be much of a waiting time if any.

if you would like anymore information just cantact me via pm.

***EDIT***

regards,
Bryan

Why not just use one of those universal adjustable ones off fleabay like everyone else, i think they go for about £30.

Because it doesn't clear the inlet manifold as they are designed for accords. :)

there was a slight delay in starting.. my son was unwell at the start of the week and we decided to refit all the aircon pipes to the car to make sure that all was well... the aircon pipes sit really close to the drivers side strut mount (as most will know) and we didnt want to build it all to find out the pipework got in the way for those who keep/have aircon..

all is back on track now and will keep you all up to date asap.

So are the ti struts lower than the 400/200 bubbles?

I have used an OMP one much like this one:

No, the engine is in a different position, so a strut brace like that would foul the inlet manifold.

Any news yet Bryan?? :)

Its stiff as hell!!!.. roundabouts kick donkey boy (went a bit mad lastnight, got a video and everything! ) and you can feel uneven roads soo much more, i thought i had pushed the car to the limmit as far as traction goes... but clearly i was wrong.

Still, your response did make me laugh though.

Apologies to bryan for taking a while to put this up, but if you are thinking of getting one of these, have look at my review here:

I'm very pleased with the handling results, and the quality and aesthetics is top notch

Ooh! That does look good!

Was it easy to fit?

Methinks I'll be ordering one for my next Ti.
