How do i find out what version of android im running on my samsung galaxy s?? other than waiting in a queue for ages ringing operator.

At least on my HTC Wildfire, should be the same on Samsung.

If you haven't upgraded the firmware, it'll be 2.1 Eclair.

Worth skipping the official 2.2 Froyo updates and trying to get hold of the latest 2.2.1 (JPX or JPY) releases, as Samsung actually got round to fixing a big pile of things which they seemed to miss on the 2.2 updates, and utterly transforms the phone wioth no lagfixes or other bodges required.

Either that, or official 2.3 Gingerbread should be coming february/march time.

Dont know too much about the technical side of phones, so sorry if this a dumb question but how do i update my phone to 2.2 or the other ones you were on about?

Easiest way is just open up the Samsung Kies software (free download), plug it in, and click update!
